those WTF moments
So it's June and we had a new term start this month and after about 2 weeks everyone seems fairly settled in.
I have this one WTF moment that I feel the need to share and I know you guys are going to enjoy.
Day 1:
This guy comes in (American) and asks about changing classes. He returns later that afternoon to ask about visa extensions. No big deal, but I definitely remembered him cuz he'd JUST come in twice that day. He comes in a third time to ask about opening a bank account, I ask him if he's 20 yrs old (cuz the legal age here is 20 and not 18 as it is commonly in the West), he comes back with:
"You trying to figure out if I'm legal for you or not?" *smile, smirk, flirty eyes*
Me: *slightly confused* "Uh....... no, you just have to be 20 to open an account."
Him: "Well, I just didn't want you to get the wrong idea or anything. Because I'm not really looking for anything permanent right now and you're not my type, but we can be friends."
Me: *long steady blink* "Someone has a high opinion of themselves."
Him: "I call them like I sees them!"
(there was some more conversation that followed here but I'm a bit fuzzy on it and in the end he got upset with me and wanted to see my director, who incidently wasn't there that day and he left in a huff)
Day 2:
He returns and opens with: "I'm a really busy guy but I'm willing to forgive you for yesterday (or something like that BS) and I have some time tomorrow, so we should do dinner Sat night."
Me: *blink* "I'll be busy. Washing my hair. *lean forward over desk* And in case you weren't sure that's a classic 'go away' line."
Him: "Oh baby! Don't be like that!" (yes, cringe. I did, inside.)
Me: "I'm saying no to dinner because I don't date outside my species and in case you didn't realize that's ALSO a classic 'go away' line. I have an entire book of these but I DON'T have the time to recite them to you."
Him: "Aw. Don't make me work for it! You don't have to play hard to get for me to respect you."
