Oh, hello again LJ! You startled me.
So, I'm working on a bit of a conundrum of late. Obviously before any big move, it's good to get rid of stuff you no longer need. And I have a couple large-ish boxes full of old university documents. Lecture notes, research notes, transcriptions of mad rantings from archive dives, drafts and finals of old essays and assignments, and so on. And that's not even counting the actal course textbooks! Now, in theory, I could shred all of this and donate it to a recycling depot, where they'd presumably turn six years of blood, sweat, and tears into minimum 10% post-consumer fibre toilet paper.
Now, I can't imagine ever again needed most of this stuff. I mean, especially given that my degree is in history - by definition pretty much all of it has got to be written down somewhere else in case I ever, for some strange reason, need to know, say, who the Khan of the Blue Horde was after Genghis (also, hello, wikipedia.) I still have a sense of accomplishment and, dare I say, fondness, for those old course notes though.
Anyways. Since most of you all went to university, a question, Gentle Reader: do you still have your course notes? Did you burn them in some ceremonial fire the moment they were no longer needed, or do you still feel the odd urge to curl up with your dissertation on Number Theory from 3rd Year every so often? Have you disposed of said notes, but later regretted it?
