[picspam primer] the rocket summer
Okay so once upon a time I said I'd cut my hair like Bryce Avary's. It's still a true statement.
Why? Because I fucking love The Rocket Summer.
First thing you should know about The Rocket Summer: it sounds like a band, but it isn't. It's just Bryce, dicking around on his instruments. On any given track The Rocket Summer puts out, Bryce pretty much does everything. That band you see in the music videos? It's a lie. Yhere, watch Bryce play keyboard, drums and bass guitar before going into a music shop - where he is basically a kid in a candy store (no seriously, he says so himself).

Let me tell you a secret, though. He wasn't always precious and I have pictoral evidence.
He had terrible hair for a long time, man.

But it's okay! He got a better haircut and then he became my hair idol (no, I'm really not joking about that). In some pictures, he looks a little bit like Patrick Stump or Michael Guy Chislett. Like here!

But you know how you can tell he's a frontman? He makes RIDICULOUS faces.

Also he wears glasses, but Mikeyway wears glasses so this is not a valid comment. I just like glasses.
Bryce sometimes likes to pretend he's gangster.
And sometimes he likes to pretend he's a monster.
Sometimes he does this while playing guitar:
But real, Bryce is just a guy. You could even take him home to your mom! Look, he's totally a sweet guy.
Have I mentioned that Bryce plays the keyboard yet? Because he does.
He looks really good while he's doing it.
And, because he's just that awesome, he can make lens flare appear whenever he wants it.
But that's not all, okay? HE MAKES MUSIC! I know, I know. That's totally crazy and it can't be any good, right? I mean, one guy playing all the instruments? How would that even work???
The answer: really fucking well. You may know this song, actually. You might not, but that doesn't change how awesome it is.
It's definitely my favorite, which has little to do with the fact that it was the first song I heard. I just like it. Again, please remember that the band you see there is A LIE. It's his tour band, I think. I like this song too, actually.

But the best part you guys? You guys? He's totally fucking happy and gleeful. Seriously, this kid is like Brendon without Mormon angst. William without self-loathing. Gerard without wanting to save the world. He's super precious, especially in interviews. I love him. Have my favorite song + a short interview.
If you do not love him yet, you have no heart. Seriously, love him! Listen to his music! Write me Chislett/Avary!
