Weekly update
week two down! I'm really enjoying my job, and getting better at it.
I spent most of the week on dog kennels, sick cat room, and the adoptable rooms. One co worker calls in sick a lot (or just doesnt show up) so we had fun running around trying to cover for her on two days. one of those days I ended up working alone. I fell behind a bit but most of my co workers are awesome and helped me out. Seeing as I shouldnt be alone yet I think I did pretty well.
my guinea pig got adopted on my days off. really kinda broke my heart. I still miss him. We got a new one in who seems like it was incredibly neglected. I feel bad for him, but hes not nearly as sweet as Gordo was. Maybe with some love he'll get better.
I found out the kitten, who I named Abbie, hasnt gone up for adoption cause shes testing positive for a pretty nasty disease. She may have gotten the antibodies from her mom so thats why shes still around; keep hoping for a negative test.
The other new girl started. I dont like her, but at this point I think I can work around her (not that I have a choice). example; I've barely talked to her but spent about 20 mins talking to her and Max. She asked if I have a boyfriend and I told her I was engaged. about two hours later I'm folding towels and she comes up to me and asks if I want to have babies with my fiance. I find that odd, and incredibly rude since I dont know her and really thats none of her business. (shes 19 and has twins btw.)
We have two food aggressive pit bull puppies at work. total sweet hearts otherwise. while we were understaffed they got into an all out brawl and ripped each other apart. they were covered in blood it was awful. It was also decided that they were two high risk so we euthanized them on Thursday. I sat in for one of them. They really do go quick and we only do it when its the right thing to do.
That evil rat that bit me also got Euthed. She some how broke her leg, and since she already had points against her for being mean the vet "pink carded her".
Last Friday and Saturday we adopted out 37 dogs and cats. thats amazingly high. That also includes my guinea pig, and a kitty named Toby who was a totally sweetie and deserved a good home.
