Not exactly jaw-dropping but interesting all the same.
Part of me would rather be happy all the time. Then I wouldn't care if I were smart or not. But I think it's that kind of attitude that would bring about the fall of the world. Ignorance is bliss, as they say, but I wouldn't equate happiness with peace. Peace is something that requires knowledge and the acceptance of good and bad. And peace trumps happines, imho.
What throws me about this article is its emphasis on income... They're making the point that more educated individuals (therefore maybe with better paying jobs) are not happy because they aren't satisfying themselves with "just enough." Of course that's just a very small part of the issue. Besides, there are plenty, PLENTY of wealthy people who would really like to be happy and certainly don't have peace.
So the article really doesn't solve anything.
It just kind of says "doesn't matter what you do; you're screwed."
