I've come to the conclusion...
that you just can't win. Ever.
My drama-free guild went off the deep end this past week. Well, actually for about 2 weeks now. I can't even tell you what happened. Just suddenly someone I thought was my friend was acting out, then went stupid when I confronted him. We had officers fighting over everything and anything because of it, people all claiming to be doing what was the right thing and most of the time it was but...it was conflicting with other right things. We had people get butthurt over nothing, two different groups gquit over nothing with one of them trying to snipe my long time guildies after being here less than a week. We had a guildie tell me to F off in vent. I was stupid enough to give him another chance and he did it again. We had screenshot wars going on. That's not even all.
Right now I have two incredibly burned out officers/raid leaders and a bunch of guildies remaining who are stalwartly on my side. I have guildies who are confused and hurt. I have people spreading rumors about me and one or both of my officers. I have people lying and saying I'm going to troll them off the server. In short, I have a lot of childish people whom I used to consider friends all getting their jollies by attacking me. Not cool, Wyrmrest. Not cool at all.
So...no one can guild invite for the moment. At all. Bank is locked and I'm watching for any more signs of stupid. Posted a big rant/FAQ/whatever on the guild web site. Had some down time on the ally side of the server (hate their trade chat but w/e). Hopefully my officers can get their stuff together. If they don't, I really have no problem disbanding. I like my guildies but I'm paying the same $15 a month as everyone else and I'm not paying it to be Dear Abby or babysit a bunch of adults who act like four-year-olds (it wasn't the teens I had a problem with - all the people who've been childish are in their 20's).
