I have been putting some thought into the job I want to level after blm and whm are done (and I have gone at least part way to my merits!).
Summoner - updated, might be more fun, but frankly, not for me.
Monk - Elvaan make good monks, but nah.
Warrior - was an idea at one point, but I can't see it tbh - maybe one day.
Dragoon - one day, I really want to level this, and do it well, to prove to all the emos it can be done. Also with ToAU, a profusion of mobs weak to piercing.
Thief - just - no.
Samurai - fascinating, but after recent experience, I don't think so.
Ranger - shooting money away urgh.
Puppetmaster - Amadeo is showing the way it should be played, but his lfp time makes me cry.
Paladin - going to take to 37 to help Murphie level his dark knight, maybe one day a candidate for 75.
Dark Knight - was painful taking to 37, no way in hell is it going higher.
Beastmaster - seriously considering levelling this on the side - solo good, and have more options than blm to be perfectly honest.
Corsair - the hybrid of support and DD is fascinating, maybe one day. I know it is shooting money away but seems more fun...
So, onto the serious considerations.
Blue Mage - becoming more fascinating everytime I see Tilion play it. I guess it is the best combination of melee and mage.
Pros - have the sword skill already, have most of the subs (missing thf), looks fun
Cons - learning the damn spells, trying to figure out the best way to use the spells (it scares me at the moment).
Ninja - you can never have enough tanks!
Pros - already at 37 with Utsu Ni, used to counting shadows anyway with rdm/nin soloing efforts, gear isn't difficult to come by with prices as they are
Cons - Elemental Ni are a pain to get, tanking is something reasonably new to me, idiotic parties scare me
Bard - in the beginning, waaaaaaaay back before I finally decided on rdm, I was going to be a bard.
Pros - subs already dealt with, a bard always makes a good party better, fun, always needed
Cons - pulling (shudder), working with people who move, the expectation.
At the moment, it is slightly veering in favour of blu, but the last 3 jobs are the ones I am seriously considering next...
