It seems like there has been a constant high level of crap going on, and it's starting to make me all tense. It started before Christmas, with the horsey hoof giant abcess hole, which merged nicely into the panic of early primary season. Then a month ago, my car went kaput and I had to shell out most of what I'd managed to squirrel away since paying off the horse's other vet bills to pay for that. (Though being stuck at Steve's all weekend was not such a bad thing.) SuperTuesday, as I'm bustling between studios to make sure vote tallies are running properly, I get a call from the farrier that Cally is now dead lame gimpy at the walk, on what appears to be the right front; we put the shoe back on anyway, and I'm out soaking in the next two days, during which it is ridiculously cold and windy and she's pitching fits to the point of breaking her halter about having her foot soaked, so a shiny new Quillin halter it is!
At some point, I visited my grandfather, post-hip-replacement, and noted that cranky grandma was crankier than normal; she went to the hospital earlier this week, and apparently has congestive heart failure, amongst other ailments. Woke up this morning to gray skies and a dead car battery, and of course no way to jump the damn thing, so I walked my taxes to the post office and myself down across old town to vote, and stopped in at the equipment rental place to see if they sold jumper cables. Of course not, but they were kind enough to come jump the car so I could sit and watch other vehicles wreck on the icy roads while I shelled out for a new battery. Given the poor job that the wiper blades were doing removing the freezing rain from my windshield on the way home from gracing Cally with her lovely new halter, those need replacing, too, but it's just going to have to wait.
I just want to curl up and sleep for a couple of days and have nothing happen worth noting. That would be really nice.
