Yay, best HP so far!
Well, I think a couple of the things they chose to leave by the wayside may end up being terribly important in the end, most notably the house elves (Kreacher's a key to something!) and the (mmmm) Weasley twin's future joke shop, because I just feel like something big is going to come out of that. However, the excellence outweighed what I thought was missed, as the effects were wonderful, the performances great, and the pace just perfect. I LOVED the look of the Death Eaters, very creepily KKK-evocative. And oh, evil!Ralph Fiennes, how I love you.
I'm really glad I reread the book before going to see this. I'm also glad we went to see it at the Uptown, because while we had to wait in line for half an hour in literally freezing weather, the theater's great and the audience was just perfect. Plus Tori and I managed to sneak in an ungodly amount of candy.
Even if it was a long walk in the cold to get there, the Thai was totally worth stopping off for. Especially the ginger green tea, which I expected to be something hot and in a teacup, and was actually very soda-ish, and so delicious.
