Personally, I think pieces like these are needed every once and a while. Not just fics about hot sex and cheesy fluff and dreary angst or drama, but stories that make readers think and reflect on everything they've been given or assumed. It's too easy for fandoms, especially as one as large as the GazettE fandom, to accept everything as it is and go on. They follow trends that others have set up for them, portray characters that are so drastically twisted and distorted that it becomes rotten. While none of that will ever stop, eventually somebody comes along and thinks differently. They question the majority and write a piece about it. The don't cut corners or hide the message underneath emotions or pretty words. The writing is clear, the thoughts are straightforward, and this is what causes people to think.

It's been so long since I've read a character-centric fic. Coming from the GazettE comms, it's a miracle. Everyone can do this, but almost nobody bothers to. How disappointing. I'm grateful you decided to put your thoughts down. Negative or not, it needs to be put out there.

Lies were the only language they knew and speak of now. Lies were the lingo of the rich and famous. Lies, were what those who succeeded knew was what brought them to where they were today. And with this, you've presented how much they've changed, how their passion has become distorted. A wonderful theme in this piece that doesn't get lost in the plot or words. It's there, sharp and simple.

They were after all, the GazettE. I love how simple this line is. It's so simple, but so profound. It shows how much they've influenced the music industry, how far they've come, how much they're recognized nowadays.

From sucking dry their followers’ allowances, salaries, for poor quality mass-produced merchandise, to making false promises over radio broadcasts and television appearances. This. This line. This is the root of the problem, the thing that every fan at some point has questioned one way or another. That the passion and dedication behind a band and their music is a complete and total act. It's a frightening thing to consider, but one that exists regardless.

The theme behind this fic is fascinating. To me, it's as if the GazettE have learned to accept, and even believe, their lies. That they've been accepted by their fans, have earned their fame and status. And the fans in turn, while they have no idea of their influence on them, shower them with gifts, messages, and support that feeds their lies and keeps the cycle spinning. It's a relationship that is sickening, but intriguing nonetheless. A twisted kind of "love", if you will.

Thank you for this lovely piece. I hope you feel better soon.

Wow, thank you very much for your detailed review! I rarely ever get critiques like yours, and I really appreciate you putting time and effort into leaving such a long comment.

I was doubtful about posting this into the comms because it can be offensive to some, if not many people (fans, that is). But I had to try, and I did. Sure enough it got rejected by a comm but oh well.

I used to really love the band. I was one of those mindless fans. But I stepped out of the fandom for awhile, and when I looked at them, I just can't help but think these. While I'm glad that someone out there is able to relate and share the same perspective as me, it's also saddening to see how much the band has grown and evolved to such a direction.

Thanks again, and I do feel all better already (:

Really? That's surprising. If anything, that gives it all the more reason to be in the comm. Of course, if the fic didn't meet the comm's rules or standards, that's understandable. But my reasoning is if it offends people, it will make them think. The problem with the GazettE fandom, especially nowadays, is that fans tend to be too sensitive. They take everything that isn't praise or silliness as a personal attack when it really is just preference or expressing thoughts. It's something different, and it's disappointing that people here take stuff like this too seriously and view it as a threat. Thinking on these things too much can be problematic. In the end, it's simply a fic.

As much as a person loves a band, I think people shouldn't blindly follow them. They give you music and something to enjoy, yes, but the messages behind their music should make you think and challenge. You don't have to love every single or album they produce, and you don't have to agree with everything they say. Blaming the band because it doesn't fit your taste is immature. (Unfortunately, that's another thing people in this fandom tend to do quite often.) If you hate it, just hate it, ignore it and leave it alone. Simple as that, really.

Ah, I've turned this into yet another one of my tangents...my apologies.

Ahh yes yes I agree! It's a tendency die-hard fans have and it gets on me sometimes. It's sad though.. And I think it's a sad cycle.
