I'm cautiously optimistic about Ted's 'role' in Booster's series. I'm not sure Johns will actually bring him back (I dare not get my hopes up) but I believe he respects and (as you said) likes the characters enough that he'll write a damn good story about. Johns is SUCH a fanboy, and I love him for that (even if his Teen Titans was rather dismal).
I loved Batman's 'WTF, Booster?' attitude when Booster ran off. I'm really fond of Batman when he's not being a colossal douche (like he was in Countdown to Infinite Crisis).
I love Trickster and Piper in Countdown, I just wish that the writers would remember that James is a REALLY clever guy and not just some bumbler who thinks you can trust the Penguin of all people.
Eddie's a terribly ill man, so I can't really blame him for the way he behaves. I do agree that he probably should have died, but I guess since someone would have brought him back anyway it's probably better a talented writer was in control rather than some hack a couple years done the road. I'm a pretty big Eddie Brock fan to, though I suspect my sister is more. Actually, my sister is a big Carnage fan...she still rants on occasion about Bendis disposing of him in such an ignoble way.
I'm usually very very cautious when it comes to stuff like that, never daring to hope, so my optimism when it comes to this series really amazes me. I think I just know that even if he doesn't bring him back, there still will be Ted and it's going to be good :D

Yes but where is fun in that? ;) I think the writers really try to portray Piper as the sensible(r) one but you have to remember that it was Trickster who got them of that plane and he was the one against going to Bart's funeral (wtf, Piper?! o_0) I think each of them have a few issues of being clever and then the cleverness is transferred to the other. It's the chain thing, I'm telling you, it's all because of that chain.

Yeah, if they left him without a clear plan, just so someone could use him if s/he sees it fit, I'm going to be very angry. I love him, especially in his Lethal Protector mode. DO NOT FAIL ME MARVEL! NOT AGAIN!
Mmm...Alex Ross Namor *paws screen*
I would hit tap lick have clear thoughts and be very respectful towards it.
Argh, so many typos in my previous post! Must remember to proofread!
I kind of like the idea of the chain leeching Piper and Trickster's intelligence...not literally but maybe because they can't think straight when so close to one another...yeah.
