We did Things this weekend. Now I am tired and have a sore throat and am behind on everything, so I shall post briefly.
After buying Squash and Things for a future Halloween-ish party at the farmer's market, we drove down the the Renaissance Festival near Charlotte. Fortuitously, the recent break in the heat made my fabulous purple pirate costume (newly accented with
akiko's wonderful stripey socks) bearable. There we met
anacoluthon and
listener and
biodoc. We wandered and perused and spectated and did many other Ren Fest type Things. The end-day Tortuga Twins show was perhaps even more raucous than normal. We then repaired to biodoc's house, where she made me a special quesadilla *without* black beans because she rocks. And we had some tasty drinks.
The next day we went to the "Discovery Place" to see the Bodyworlds exhibit, in which many bodies and organs and systems and even some animals and Things have been plastinated for easy and educational viewing. It was pretty cool. Then we watched a guy blow some stuff up in a manner remarkably similar to my high school chemistry teacher. I think these guys pass notes.
Oh, and earlier we had a yummy brunch just down the street at a place the name of which I forget entirely, but which had excellent eggs benedict.
Then we drove home and attempted to catch up on other Things, not including groceries, which I need to get on my way home from work. Thankfully I remembered the grab the grocery list, about two seconds before I left the house this morning.
