There and back again
So, in Oregon now. Flying back tomorrow. It's nice here, and smells like vacation. (I had grandparents here, so often visited for Christmas or summer break.)
Will be missing the akiko muchly, and visiting as often as possible for the next year. Not coincidentally, will be on AIM a heck of a lot more than the almost-never I have previously exhibited.
Saw Howl's Moving Castle. It was good and I quite enjoyed it. I'm a bit surprised that I've seen reviews doing the usual bit about people "not getting Miyazaki's movies when they don't follow Western story-telling conventions", since I thought Howl followed a much more Western story arc than, say, Spirited Away, which everyone over here seemed to like. *shrug* Never claimed to understand movie critics.
