I Watched the.... no, no, I can't say it.

Ok, so I *saw* Watchmen last night. Now, I read the book probably sometime between five and ten years ago, so I'm not gonna pick up much on picky details. Overall, I thought it was pretty good! The casting in particular seemed spot-on. From the early publicity shots, I was worried that the outfits looked to slick, but I think the acting made up for it to some extent. Yes, you can easily argue that the purely human heroes (i.e. everyone except Manhattan) were a little too good at what they did, but I'm mostly willing to chalk that up to Hollywood action scene license and let it slide. And yeah, tons of Snyder slow-mo, bleh, but at least it was confined to the action and thankfully there's quite a lot of stuff going on in Watchmen besides the action. In the end, I think it was about as good as I could bring myself to expect from a major Hollywood production of a very multi-layered original work.

Meanwhile, it is suddenly ludicrously nice out this weekend. I think I'm definitely gonna have to get my ass out biking tomorrow.
