Alternate title: crazy incestuous geek friend loops are crazy.

It seems like every time I add a new friend on LJ these days, I uncover some wacky multiple-social-group connection that I never would have expected. The latest example began when I added skuldchan after meeting her at Dragon*Con. I noticed a comment in her LJ with an icon that looked familiar, clicked through to captainecchi's profile, and discovered she knew rigel. (Massachusetts seems to be the common connection there.) I mentioned this in the thread, and this got skuld poking around until she realized that listener, whom she also just met at Dragon*Con, already knew raxvulpine, which was apparently blowing her mind. So I did a little stalking and quickly deduced that they probably met through the Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup project. But in the process of this stalking, I discovered rax *also* knows oonh. Just for that extra bit of random surprise.

Crazy incestuous geek friend loops are crazy. And graph theory is fascinating.

Edit: just used LJ connect and found a *new* random link. Me - jon_leonard - jhonen_red - Skuld. The wackiness does not cease.

Edit Edit: and another: Me - ee970 - akaisakura - Skuld. This is really kind of insane.

Or: Me - tiercel - twigcollins - Skuld. I'm now up to at least half a dozen unrelated 3-hop connection to Skuld before I met her, and counting.

Me - tiurin - wrane - Skuld.
