So I have been very busy over the last month-and-a-bit, taking a lifeguarding course. I've been trying to get certified so that we can do water-related activities with the Pathfinders (like let them swim when we're at camp... or even wade).
Today was my NLS (National Lifeguarding Service) exam. I was pretty worried about it because there's one skill in particular that I'm quite weak on, but I am very pleased to be able to say that I PASSED! Hurrah!
Now, I do still need to work on my speed and so forth, and I will have to be recertified in two years, but this is very good news indeed. And next time it'll be that much easier, because a) I've now successfully done it once, and b) two years is a much shorter time than the... 10 years? Or more? Since I did my lifesaving courses.
