In which the actual cleaning of my disaster zone- er, room commences, plus I have a project

I have bookshelves! Woooo! This means that I have now emptied three boxes (and about half of another) that have been sitting in my room and slowly disgorging their contents since I moved in over a year ago. The books are now (almost) all on the shelves and organized, which means I now have more space to work on the rest of the boxes and piles.

room-cleaning shenanigans )

project, i'm a dork, poetry, cleaning

Good on you for imposing order on your space! It's realy remarkable how much better being able to see and access all the things will make you feel.

Yay for cleaning! For fabric, I see a lot of those clear plastic tubs (so you can see what's in the box without opening it). Or more shelves, if you have the room. And I approve of your highly dramatic paragraph.

Oh, and I had an Idea yesterday that involves words. Feel free to practice Beowulf-ising on it (no pressure tho). Plot: The poor farmer/peasant/whatever is offered a reward by the king for some reason. He/she can choose one thing from the king's storeroom. He wants to find the most valuable thing there, of course, but how to choose from amongst the stacks of golden treasures? Cleverly, he brings in his goat. The goat, after sniffing and searching, eventually starts munching happily on some rather plain looking object, which turns out to be a hidden/disguised but ridiculously fabulous thing. The deed to the kingdom or some such.
Why? because my goats have a magical sense for eating the most expensive hard-to-replace object in range. I assume this is innate in all goats.
