Remember how just a few years ago, people hadn't really ever seen a giant squid? How our few glimpses of them were mutilated bodies that got half-wrapped up in nets and all, and artist's renditions?
Granted, lately a lot of recent sightings are simply because of better equipment, like that expedition of Japanese Marine Biologists who got a number of photos and video from their little trip. But within the last 24 hours it's been reported that an entire horde of 100-lb, 7-foot-long squid have taken up residence in Monterey Bay.
