So National Novel Writing Month is over and done with. But I keep hearing about this little group project. Something about people turning December into Finish Your Novel Month. Gets me thinking. Do I really want to work on finishing Red Someone throughout the month of December? Not even sure I can say I'll finish it if I try, but I am ( Read more... )

Thank you, Cathy, for sounding like a textbook. What I mean is: Pretend for a moment that you haven't read any of the previous stories about Salvador that I've posted here. Pretend you don't know the character any better than how he's been presented in Red Someone thusfar. Then I'd like to know, do you think I should start a new part of the story from his point of view? Or should I stick with Vicky and maintain as much mystery and allure as I can?

I know full well my readers only know what I let them. The difference here is that most of you have already seen sides of Salvador that I don't usually show. My intent with Red Someone was to return to his original mystery. Once upon a time he was a strange kid that nobody understood. Before all the chaos ensued concerning his heritage and such.

I asked for an opinion. Because I can't decide on my own and want to hear some input from other people. I've been told Victoria is a believable and likeable character. Do I want to move the spotlight off of her? I don't know. Having trouble deciding.

On a related note, I have considered writing other "books" like this one. Red Someone turned into an idea of creating stories with titles such as: Blue Someone, Yellow Someone, Green Someone. Colors. Yeah. You get the idea. In all of those ideas, Salvador is a part of the story, but again not the main character. All of those idea, follow-up, stories would involve completely different protagonists who meet Salvador Delahada.

Maybe that'll help shed some light into the murky depths of my cracked out mind?

Eh... maintain the mystery. Keep people wanting more until the end. It would be good to see her through his eyes for a bit, though.
