~7~
Seunghyun had pushed last night far into the back of
his mind and into a section labeled “do not enter.” He decided not to think
about it since there wasn’t a point in purposely torturing himself with the
images and thoughts that accompanied what he had seen last night. It didn’t
matter anymore. Nothing did. It wasn’t Jiyong’s fault, of course it wasn’t. And
in fact, it wasn’t Miku’s fault either. Since when were people blamed because
they fell in love with one another? He didn’t need any more proof than what he
had seen last night to say that those two were more than friends. It broke his
heart to see Jiyong in someone else’s arms, even if he had been there first.
At first he had contemplated going home; after all
there was no point in him being here since they had each other and no reason to
care about his wellbeing. Right when he had made up his mind that he would walk
out of this house and face whatever might be outside alone, he realized that he
left his keys in his locker at work and he didn’t have his car with him either.
He groaned, wishing that he had not placed all his trust into the beautiful
blonde man and taken those stupid things with him. He felt betrayed no matter
how hard he told himself that it wasn’t as if Jiyong had ever told him he was
single. He ended up staying there, trying to forget the painful memories that
kept assaulting him.
He woke up the next morning feeling miserable, the
events of the night before replaying in his mind from the moment he woke up and
he felt like just staying in bed all day.
He came down for breakfast reluctantly, lured in by the tempting smell
of bacon as he made his way down the stairs. No matter how hungry he was he
didn't want to see Jiyong in that kitchen because it would only make his heart
ache more. Finally, his body's craving for nourishment sent angry signals to
his brain which seemed to start functioning on primitive instinct as he walked
into the kitchen.
At the stove stood Miku, and while it should have
been better than to see the cause of his heartbreak it still hurt when he
realized that this man was also partially the cause of it. The short man stood
in front of the stove frying bacon and eggs in a gigantic frying pan, well
aware of the feelings that the dark haired man was experiencing. He turned to
the other with a bright smile.
"Morning~" Seunghyun suddenly noticed
how similar this man and Jiyong were behavior-wise. Not receiving an answer,
the spiky-haired man frowned.
"I said morning, you could at least
answer." He pouted, turning back to the stove.
"Mornin'." The tall man grumbled.
Someone's in a bad mood, Miku thought. Right then Jiyong flounced through the
doorway looking perfectly awake and cheery.
"Good morning~!" He sang, stretching and
walking over to where the other blonde was cooking. Of course he's happy, he
probably got some last night, Seunghyun thought.
"I'm making bacon and eggs. I hope you like
it." The short blonde looked over his shoulder and smiled up at Jiyong who
in turn hugged him from behind. Seunghyun felt sick. Jiyong got them all plates
and helped the other put the food on the table.
"Itadakimasu!" Miku stared in on his
plate first while Jiyong hesitated, looking at Seunghyun's sour expression as
he started at the food and picked up his chopsticks.
"You alright?" He asked the other.
"Peachy." Seunghyun went back to staring
at his plate before he decided to try some.
The moment the food was in his mouth all thoughts
of disliking the spiky-haired man were gone. It was delicious and he'd by lying
if he said that he didn't like this man's cooking. While it was different from
Jiyong's it still tasted absolutely amazing and he thought that these two were
probably the couple with the best cooking skills.
Couple.
That word made him suddenly want to expel the food
he had just eaten. He was so distracted by the food that he forgot the reason
that he didn't want to try it in the first place.
He looked up at the two blondes sitting across
from him, and while they sat awfully close, they acted as thought nothing had
happened between them the previous night and happily munching away at their
breakfast.
Today Seunghyun worked his job as a clerk and
while he didn't feel like going, it had to be done. So he had asked Jiyong to
take him to work, avoiding his eyes the whole time.
The trio once again made their way into town and
to the convenience store where Seunghyun worked with Miku remarking that such a
place didn't seem to suit him. They stayed in the store, watching over the tall
man until his shift was over, which caused his other boss to say that they must
be good friends with the way that they stayed close to one another and that he
hadn't seen his employee with any other people before which caused Jiyong to
look at Seunghyun with a sad expression. After they left the convenience store Jiyong
had offered to take them both out to dinner and they soon found themselves
within a crowded, expensive restaurant. Seunghyun had no idea what to order and
ended up taking Jiyong's recommendation of American style steak (he was
beginning to notice that the other had a taste for American food.) He had eaten
until he was full and thought that he had never felt better after eating than
he did now.
They drove home with Jiyong blasting music by 2NE1
whom Seunghyun liked for their spunk and energy. He wasn't surprised that the
other man listened to them too, after all they were one of the most popular pop
bands in Korea, but what surprised him was how Jiyong seemed to know the lyrics
of every song, lip syncing along to then with funny facial expressions and hand
gestures. Seunghyun laughed at his behavior and for the first time that day,
truly felt at ease. Maybe he could enjoy just being with the other man like
this...
They arrived home and Jiyong exclaimed that he wanted to play videogames
and since no one normally played with him then he'd force them to play with him
whether they want to or not. Mario Kart seemed harmless enough, and that's how
Seunghyun found himself on the couch next to Jiyong and Miku steering
Donkeykong on his kart around the racetrack. The other two seemed far better at
this than him since they were far ahead on the track and kept leaving bananas
on the ground for him. At least Miku did. And it pissed Seunghyun off even more
that the little bastard had not only stolen Jiyong but was enjoying picking on
him too. They played a few more rounds, all of which Jiyong won because he
seemed the most talented one when it came to videogames, before abandoning the
subject altogether and flopping lifelessly on the couch.
"Man I'm actually kind of tired...” Miku
yawned.
"Time for bed?" Seunghyun hated to admit
that Jiyong looked totally adorable as he said that.
"Mmm sure~" More yawning before the
shorter blonde stood up and left the room leaving the other two alone.
Jiyong scooted closer to Seunghyun and rested his
head on his shoulder. "Are you tired Seunghyun?" He practically
purred.
"Kind of..." He didn't know if he could
control himself now with the other so close.
"Why don't you go sleep too?" The
younger's hand was dangerously close to Seunghyun's nipple as he slid it across
his chest before wrapping both of his arms around the tall man's torso. If
Seunghyun didn't know any better he'd think the younger was trying to seduce
him.
"J-Ji..." The nickname was back.
"Yes?" The blonde batted his eyelashes
at the taller, unaware of what he was doing to him with that gesture alone. For
Seunghyun it was pure torture to have Jiyong be so close to him, breathing the
same air as him, looking at him, touching him, turning him on... He leaned
towards the other who awkwardly closed his eyes and tilted his face up, providing
the taller better access to those pink, moist lips. Seunghyun was so close, the
blonde man's breath on his face, those arms wrapping tightly around his body in
a protective embrace that made him feel it's warmth to his core, wanting to be
pulled into that chest where he knew he would be protected. He wanted to give
his everything to this man that he looked at with utter devotion, the elegant
curve of his face, that delicate nose, eyes that contained so much light, those
tempting lips... He leaned in once again, nose brushing the other's cheek and
causing him to shiver.
That's when he realized what he was doing.
His eyes snapped open and he looked down at the
beautiful man that was partially seated on his lap with his arms wrapped around
him. His eyes were closed in expectation, brow slightly furrowed when Seunghyun
stood up.
"I can't do this, I'm sorry. Goodnight
Jiyong." Before the man on the couch could say anything the taller was
gone.
Jiyong sat frozen on the couch, staring blankly at
the doorway from which Seunghyun had left only moments ago. He looked at his
hands that had held the other before his sudden departure and brought his right
one up to his cheek to stroke at the spot that the other man's nose had
touched. He felt so empty. Instinctively he wrapped his arms around himself as
he curled up further into the couch, trembling.
