Random thought: If you’re going to continue the Daemon story, maybe you can include the Ohmiya sharing a futon thing. Ohno says sleepy Nino is super adorable, so he can’t help but cuddle with him. It’s why he’s late for work sometimes and Haru would whine when Ohno finally leaves making Marie upset at Ohno
Ohno woke up feeling comfortable and warm. He wanted to stay asleep but the phone that he had stuck under his cushion was buzzing uncomfortably and even if he would love to continue to snuggle with his lover and ignore his phone, he knew he couldn’t.
He sighed softly, pulling his arms away from under Nino who was whining slightly. He put his hand under his cushion to snatch his phone and end the alarm before Nino could wake up fully. The other had come home late the other night, in fact, Ohno had already been asleep and only woken up because Haru had stepped on his hips in the dark and with how drowsy Nino’s daemon had been.
Ohno had opened his eyes, lifting his blanket to allow Nino to slip under it with little to no hassle. Nino had murmured a low thanks almost lost in the rustling of sheets and Ohno had pressed a kiss against the side of his mouth. At least he thought he had caught that part of his body but to be honest it could also have been his eye. Ohno was just sure that it was neither the top of his head nor his nose. He had been out soon after again, not even realising how Nino’s body had melted against Ohno’s and how the younger man fell to deep sleep with a soft sigh and smile as soon as Haru and Marie had found their perfect snuggling position as well.
Ohno observed the upturned face of Nino whose lips were set in a natural pout and he couldn’t hold back as he moved forwards to kiss the dry lips softly. A happy sigh left Nino’s lips and he moved to bury his head again deeper against Ohno’s body. Ohno smiled and laid back down, deciding that a few more minutes of cuddling with Nino were worth rushing later.
He caressed his back, feeling all the bumps of his bones and deciding that it was time to feed the other up a little bit once more. Nino tended to forget to eat when he was stressed and he was busy right now. He was not too thin right now, especially since he trained a lot for the action movie they were doing, but Ohno also didn’t want to let it go to that. He knew that it meant that he needed to concentrate more on having easy meals ready for Nino when he came home and maybe cut his fishing trips short if it was a day Nino would be home late or come home early but it was something he liked doing for his lover. He pressed his lips against the unruly mob of hair, smiling as Nino grumbled slightly in his sleep.
His eyes wandered to where their daemons were nestled up and he could see that Haru was still dozing, but his ears were alert, telling Ohno that Nino was not in deep slumber anymore. Marie was grooming the fox lazily so that the fox would feel comfortable and continue to sleep.
Neither of them wanted to wake Nino and his daemon since Ohno knew that every minute of sleep was precious right now. His phone buzzed again once, then twice and he could see the phone light blinking on top of the screen, indicating that it was a message and not his alarm. He sighed since it could be only one of their manager or the rest of the group since they were the only ones he had enabled the notifications for overnight.
His fingers traced the slight shadow of the beard Nino spotted after a long day of work and a night of sleep, mourning the thought that they would be gone the next time he would see Nino for their group work. He pressed another kiss on the tip of Nino’s nose as he carefully moved backwards, slowly, ever so slowly as to not rustle the sleeping man too much.
Sleep was precious after all.
Ohno had made it almost all the way out of bed, observing Nino for every move he made as the younger man wrinkled his nose, his lips set in an unhappy frown that his source of extra warmth was gone and Ohno couldn’t hold back when he moved forwards again, kissing the soft lips and breathing Nino in for just a second longer. His lover was adorable and lovely and Ohno wanted to stay. But he couldn’t. He knew that he should already be under the shower, to be able to have breakfast at home, but he had a shower just before bed so freshening up was enough. He could fill a tumbler instead of having coffee at home and there should be a few milk buns left.
He made a mental note to go grocery shopping before getting home that evening, more milk buns, a few onigiri and sandwiches or salads for the fridge and a few more instant ramen. Not perfect food, but good enough for a quick meal and snack if they didn’t feel like cooking. Or when Ohno didn’t feel like getting up and leaving Nino in their big bed alone in the mornings like today, and like yesterday and the day before…
Ohno didn’t know why he even tried. But Nino looked adorable, sleeping beside him and who needed proper nutrition if there was a lover in his arms? Right.
Mimi purred loudly as she rolled up around Haru again, making Ohno smile. Yes, this was perfect. He closed his eyes and sighed happily, breathing Nino in, just a little bit longer.
Ohno opened his eyes when there was more insistent buzzing against his head and because Nino was getting a bit twitchy. He groaned and rubbed his face as he checked his phone and swore under his breath. In all of his thoughts and the comfortableness of having Nino against him, he fell to sleep once more.
He carefully moved back again, caressing Nino’s side when he twitched, his fingers trying to catch parts of Ohno in his sleep before Ohno was able to stand fully. He smiled and put his fingers on top of the searching ones, getting Nino to calm down and tracing his cheek. “It’s fine, stay asleep,” he whispered, smiling when Nino agreed with a low murmur. Ohno sighed when he stood finally fully, making sure that Nino was well covered with his blanket and then quickly changed into proper clothes.
“Mimi, we have to go.”
His daemon grumbled as she rubbed her nose against Haru’s ears before she stood up, knowing that they needed to leave before the manager would come up and knock at the door or ring the doorbell and wake up Nino then.
Haru whined when Mimi left him and opened his eyes, trying to stretch to get the cat to stay, but Ohno had already picked his daemon up. “Haru we have to leave. Go back to sleep.”
“No leave, yes stay,” the daemon whined and Ohno chuckled. He bent down to drop a kiss against the Nino’s ear. How could he not with how cute they were? “Haru you can cuddle with Kazu. Come, be a nice daemon. I have to leave we’ll see each other again soon.”
Haru whined and grumbled but in the end, and with some more coercion to make sure that the daemon moved and settled down again before Nino woke he smiled and really wanted to join but managed to leave finally.
“I hate you,” Mimi mumbled when the door fell close behind them, leaving them strangely cold in the autumn morning.
“I know,” Ohno said with a chuckle, patting his daemon as he missed the warm cocoon of their bed just as much as Mimi. But there was nothing they could do. Ohno wouldn’t be able to go to work alone, neither was Mimi able to stay with the other two while Ohno left. But he knew it was only a matter of hours until he could hold Nino in his arms again.
