POTC 3 Thoughts
So I saw POTC 3 with my mom today. She had free tickets and treated me even though she is not a big fan. XD
Non-spoiler thoughts, I liked the movie but did not love it. As for how it compares to the 2nd honestly I feel both the 2nd and 3rd movie have their weaknesses and strengths so I favor neither over the other. The first will always be by far my favorite.
And if there is one thing these movies did it is give us a truly iconic character which there has not been in some time. While I don't think Jack had as big of a part in this third film as he had in the first two he is still the star of the show no question. Although I give all the credit to Depp for this because he is who brought this character alive. Disney is lucky they had him because no the movies would not have been the same without Depp.
I was happy about Will/Elizabeth, I've always been on this side of the fence. The very end after the credits was really cute. And I loved their wedding. XD
Jack's Father played by Keith Richards was awesome.
They did not use Chow Yun Fat to his full potential. Although his nails were cool. XD
I was a little disappointed in the lack of Jack but well Barbossa made up for it. He was the best part of 3.
And this is an undisputable fact Barabossa+Jack=OTP. Do not try to deny it. XDDDDDDDDDD
The part with them fighting over who was captain was my favorite part.
The negatives are the part with Davy Jones and Calypso.....stupid. I am sorry for anyone who enjoyed this part but it was way to convuluted. The first movie plot was straightforward and entertaining. With this you could tell they just wanted to make a sequel. Of course the acting and the characters we already knew still made the film entertaining.
I was a little disappointed in the fight sequences. There was only one good one the entire 3 hour movie. The first two movies definitely were better in this regard.
And that's about it except um Barbossa/Jack OTP
Edit: And why are they making another penguin movie. I hated Happy Feet, we don't need another one. D:
March of Penguins was cool though. But that had real penguins.
