I don't know what it is about this season but I am following more anime this summer than I have followed in a long time...five in total. Of course I might end up dropping some of these but for now this is my watch list.
Natsume Yuujinchou San
Well this is the only one I won't drop. Natsume is more of the same but I mean that in a wonderful way. Watching it is like seeing an old friend again. It's just such a sweet & charming series. And I LOVE the voice Kamiya Hiroshi uses for Natsume here.
Kamiyan isn't necessarily my favorite seiyuu but the voice he uses for Natsume (he also used it for Takemoto in H&C) is one of my absolute favorites. It's like the perfect narrator voice. He could read the phone book to me in this voice and I would be content.
I also love how Natsume is becoming closer to people as the series progresses ♥
OpeningEnding Anyways onto new series
No 6
I'm not sure about this one. I am not really interested in the plot at all but I do like the relationship between the main characters. I guess I will watch a few more episodes and see if it will be more focused on plot or characters.
From what I understand from novel readers the story is done but 11 episodes will probably not be enough to capture everything, so most likely it will be rushed (I could already see that from the 2nd episode). But I do love how blatant the shounen-ai hints are in this show
OpeningEnding Ikoku Meiro no Croisee
I don't think this show will become a favorite but it is pleasant enough just dealing with culture clash of a young Japanese girl coming to work in France. The setting of the series is its strong point, the atmosphere of the series is quite lovely and I love when French is actually used.
I don't like the character design of the main female though (why does she look like she is 5 when she is 13?) but her relationship with the main male character is pretty cute and funny so far.
I am not usually into anything to appeal to the moe crowd but I have to admit even I went dawwww
here OpeningEnding Bunny Drop
This anime is so sweet. I am just sorry I was spoiled for the manga ending which is awful. Hoping the anime will go in a different direction or at the very least only adapt the first half of the manga. But a drama about an adult male raising a child, not something you see everyday, especially not in anime.
And so far I love how realistic and charming everything is. Probably my 2nd favorite of the new series this season.
OpeningEnding Mawaru Penguindrum
My reaction...what did I just watch but I loved every minute of it. It's definitely my favorite of the season so far. I watched both the 1st and 2nd episode twice already trying to catch things I missed because there is so much going on visually in this anime.
How I would describe it is a series about messed up characters with random cute penguins and transformation scenes LOL
Of course this is by Ikuhara who was responsible for Utena and well I just love creator driven series like this so I really hope this meets my expectations (which are ridiculously high right now)
OpeningEnding I expect all openings/endings to be gone soon because of copyright but here they are for now.
