Stolen from
insaneladybug First anime you remember watching as a child? A bunch from Nickelodeon such as Maya the Bee and Grimm's Masterpiece Theater. Of course I did not realize they were anime at the time.
I guess the first series I knew was anime was Pokemon.
First anime you purchased? First individual DVD was DBZ (never collected the whole series). Fruits Basket and Yu Yu Hakusho were the first series I collected in their entirety. And Yu Yu Hakusho was 112 episodes all in singles too (I was crazy back then) :O
* First anime series you watched and completed? Probably Fruits Basket because it was shorter than some of the longer series I might have started first.
* Favorite female anime character? Kino from Kino no Tabi (although Youko from Juuni Kokki is a close second)
* Favorite male anime character? Ginko from Mushishi (who also happens to be my favorite anime character)
* Most annoying anime character you have ever come across? Naraku in Inuyasha. Maybe because I was really into Inuyasha but looking back he was just an awful villain and I think he is part of the reason the series when down hill for me.
* Best ‘bad guy’ you’ve seen in anime? I am not a big villain fan. I guess I will go with Keith from Toward the Terra. It helps that he is voiced by Takehito Koyasu.
* What mecha would you love to pilot? Well it's between Gunbuster, Gurren Lagann, & Escaflowne my 3 favorite mechas. But I will go with Escaflowne because it was my first love and it turns into a dragon which is awesome.
* Which anime ‘world’ would you like to be a part of? I would love to travel around with Ginko (Mushishi), Kino (Kino no Tabi), or the Medicine Seller (Mononoke).
* Name an anime that went way above your expectations? Princess Tutu because you would never expect how awesome this series would be with a title like that.
I will also say Gurren Lagann. It did start off a bit silly for me but by episode 8 it turned into something amazing.
* Name an anime that was bitterly disappointing? Wow so many. But the first one that pops into my head is Romeo X Juliet. I was really excited for it but it turned out to be so mediocre. I should have known better with Gonzo.
* Name the most obscure/ ‘unpopular’ anime you’ve seen? Well I like obscure anime so probably quite a few but I will say The Story of Anne Frank from 1995. It's a movie and really good. I didn't think it would be able to capture what Anne wrote in her diary but I think it really pulls it off.
* Favorite anime theme song? I am going to go with the
Escaflowne Opening * Favorite anime at the moment? Overall it's Mushishi. The last anime I watched that I fell in love with was Cross Game.
* Do you read manga as well? Yep and I collect series too. But I have definitely seen more anime.
* What is your favorite manga? Fullmetal Alchemist
* What anime are you currently watching for the first time? Currently the only anime I am watching is Kuragehime which is quite cute.
* What is one anime that everyone should see? The Studio Ghibli films by both Miyazaki and Takahata (even people who refuse to watch anime).
