Macross Frontier 21
Double Posting for Macross :)
What an excellent episode. Seriously after the last couple episodes I am not sure how I am going to rate Macross. It had a pretty good start but then it had such a mediocre middle, the last couple episodes have been fantastic though. Still I think if you are going to have a 25 episode series you should use every episode to its fullest which Macross definitely did not do (instead focusing on that silly Ranka/Alto/Sheryl love triangle). But I will give credit where credit is due and the series has definitely been on top form in these last episodes.
And I don't know if it is just me but I find Sheryl & Ranka to be much more interesting characters without Alto in the picture
My favorite Sheryl moment is when she was in the Shelter and decided to sing for the people. Her song might not stop the Vajra but it can still give some scared people comfort. And the fact that she cried during that scene...beautiful.
My favorite Ranka scene is when she stood up to Alto for Ai-kun. "This one didn't kill". And that's right, Alto's hate was blinding him. So I am glad that Ranka did something that she wanted to do for herself not because of Alto. And I think she made the right choice.
I don't know if it's just me but I almost feel this episode marks the end of Ranka/Alto. Ranka seemed to be saying goodbye to him even though she admitted her feelings. But who knows with this series.
Still upset about Michael though :(
