Darn You Amazon

Jul 08, 2008 11:56

So yesterday Amazon shipped my Fruits Basket manga early so I thought maybe they would ship Gurren Lagann today. I checked and the regular edition of Gurren Lagann is out of stock on the first day of its release. WTH? They should at least have enough copies to fill pre-orders and then some. Isn't that the point of pre-orders to have it in time for the release. So now I don't know if Bandai didn't send enough or if Amazon didn't order enough. I did notice that Rightstuf is out of stock of both the regular and special edition but then they shipped their pre-order early.

I feel I will never get my first Gurren Lagann DVD D:

Well I decided I am buying the second one at Otakon. I will probably get it sooner that way and this way I won't start using my Amazon gift certificate until September. There is a lot I want to buy in the coming months

August
Gurren Lagann 2(at Otakon)

September
Gurren Lagann 3
One Piece set 2
Avatar Boxset 3 (Not Anime but close enough)

October
Ouran High School Host Club Set 1

November
Tokikake

No Solicitations Yet (but hopefully will come out before 2009)
Toward the Terra sets 2 and 3
One Piece sets 3 and 4 (not sure if I will be buying anymore One Piece sets after these)
Saiunkoku DVD 3 and 4 (The only Geneon title I want and one of the very few Funi did not solicit D:)
Ouran High School Host Club Set 2

Manga I am Collecting As They Come Out
Fruits Basket
Fullmetal Alchemist
One Pound Gospel
Yotsuba (well if ADV even continues to release this)
Hikaru no Go

On a side note if they have it I might buy Giant Robo at Otakon if I find it there. I never actually saw it but it comes highly recommended from quite a few people I trust and it isn't that expensive for a blind buy. Well again that depends on if I actually find it being sold there.

And speaking of buying things my will power is completely non-existent. I go into a bookstore just to browse during my lunch and I end up seeing the Wizard of Oz, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass and Hans Christian Anderson's Complete Collection of Fairytales (I have a similar one for the Grimm Brothers) and since I can't decide which of these 3 to buy I end up buying all 3. Not to mention that I bought about 4 books the week before as well. Well I guess I won't run out of books to read anytime soon.

edit: Oh is anyone else besides me really disappointed in the license announcements at AX? The only recent license that I will purchase is Oofuri. Well I guess there was the license saves of Geneon and ADV that was really cool...but overall it was a disappointment. I wasn't expecting a lot because of the current market but even most of the series that were picked up were not that exciting..at least for me.

Here's hoping Otakon will announce some series I actually want to buy.
