Me and Kasidy have lunch...

I spent pratically all night trying to think of the exact right way to tell someone that their husband in another dimensional state and on a quest of learning from the Prophets has found a way to regularly communicate with her. But, I couldn't quite get the right mix of sympathy and excitement down, so I decided I would just tell her flat out.

Which had me jumpy and nervous as I waited for her at our table in the Celestial Cafe. I must have had four mugs of raktajino, which I remind Dax, is entirely her fault. Kasidy showed up a little late, as Doctor Bashir had to set a young person's bone before he could get to her. So she made with the chatter about how Jake is doing (he's apparently moping about the house, Captain.) and the baby is fine, and growing well. She decided that she didn't want to know the gender until it's time for that. She hasn't started to think about names yet, but I told her that I thought Jadzia would be a lovely name, and tribute to Ben's good friend.

She kind of wrinkled her nose, and said that while she thought Jadzia was a great person, they didn't name babies in her family after the deceased. Which is odd, I thought that was a human thing to do. I obviously need to brush up more on all sorts of Terran things that you would think I would have picked up on by now.

As far as lunch goes, Kasidy had salad, and I had Bajoran shrimp simmered in Hasperat sauce.

And eventually, I took a deep breath, and started to talk about the livejournal comsystem, and how it worked, and how Ezri made me get one, and then I got to the big news. She was so happy, she started crying, and then I started in, and after it was over, I treated us to an ice cream sundae.

So, as soon as I can find a code, I think Kasidy will get a journal. But she says hello, and that she's so happy to hear from you, and that the baby is doing well, and Jake is fine.

I walked her to the transport, and then she got on, so by now, she's back in your house on Bajor. Which I hear is really lovely, and I've got an invitation to visit that I think I will take up, sooner or later.
