Prince Soma and Agni ran through the lush vegetation when the first drops began to fall. A flash of light and the sound of thunder brought with them heavy rain and the start of monsoon season. While Soma always loved it at first as it was very refreshing, he soon grew bored with being cooped up inside. Now that he had Agni, he had someone to alleviate his boredom, which was why they were running through the abandoned gardens to the peacock pavilion.
Soaked to the skin, they rushed inside the crumbling stone building. Built for a long dead rani by one of Soma’s ancestors, it was their refuge from the thunderstorm raging outside as well as storms of a more human nature inside the palace. It was here that Soma could forget his loneliness as Agni was very attentive to his needs, in ways that Meena, his former nursemaid and object of his desire, was not. Here, he could even forget that she existed, something that was easy to do especially when Agni pleasured him.
This time, they stood in the doorway and watched the lightening race across the skies. They took bets to see how fast the thunder would follow it, with Soma winning. Some peacocks, which gave the pavilion its name, wandered about the interior, before heading outside, untroubled by the rain. Soma leaned against Agni and when he put an arm around him, Soma looked up and shyly smiled. Agni cupped the prince’s cheek, before leaning in to kiss him. Leading his beloved inside, they kissed again. It did not take long before they were naked, with the sound of their lovemaking a delicate counter melody to the storm raging outside.
