I fell asleep pretty quickly last night. Unfortunately, I woke up around 2 AM. Unable to get back to sleep, I got caught up on my Scrabulous moves. Right now I am playing 5 games. I eventually went back to sleep at around 5AM, and woke up at 7. So I got 3 hours of sleep initally, and 2 hours later, for a total of 5 hours. An improvement, but still not enough.
All of the credit cards here have an embedded chip, which is used for authentication. The cardholder puts his card in the machine, and then also types in his PIN. The machines also are supposed to accept credit card "swipes", the familiar procedure that us Americans know and love. The only problem is that the waiters / clerks / etc. don't know that their machines accept swipes! So far there has only been one case where the waiter didn't accept my card.
The office attire is much more casual over here. People generally wear jeans. Nice. And when I asked about attire, my boss said that it was *more* formal over here.
