Saturday - Rollergirls
Saturday after work I met up with icespark and hotarugirl and we drove down to see the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls in Bloomington's first roller derby bout. The match was exciting, with spills and thrills, and enough exchanges of leads and comebacks to keep the final result up in the air ‘til the last few minutes, when the home team (the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls) gained the winning edge in the last period and solidly kicked ass of the Black 'n Bluegrass Killbillies.
icespark hadn’t seen a roller derby bout in years, and hotarugirl hadn’t been to one before, but both soon joined me in becoming instant fans. hotarugirl and I remarked on the novelty of either of us enjoying a *sporting event,* and we definitely made plans to attend as many bouts as we can. I might also try to squeeze in more Naptown Roller Girls bouts if possible, but my heart is with the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls since I know a few of them personally.
The three of us were also supposed to attend a dinner party/surprise birthday gathering with our friends Dadypi and Jopi, but unfortunately after the bout all of us were too exhausted from our individual long days to do anything but head back to Indianapolis. Instead of Jopi’s fantastic cooking, we had to subsist on IHOP, but as least we got home in one piece. Sunday hotarugirl and I had breakfast with lildomino, and then just spent the rest of the day in bed watching DVDs. An excellent way for the two of us to celebrate our anniversary.
Tonight I get to have dinner with lemur_lady, so I had my “MUX Night” early, and got in some fun RP this afternoon while doing laundry. Now, I’m off to head back to Bloomington to meet up with lemur_lady, so I’ll have to post more when I have the chance. Have a good night, all!
