Wow.
So, I work with a woman named Robin. I mentioned her a little while ago.
Knowing her has paid off unbelievably well.
See, she went to Dominican, and had a class with a woman named Bleue Benton. Bleue works at Oak Park Public Library, which I covet. If I ever had to leave Chicago, I would live in Oak Park. I really like Oak Park.
Anyway, she mentioned to Bleue that I'm looking for work, and that I like working with kids and young adults. Which I do. Let's face it, if anyone was meant to work children and teenagers, it's me. Anyway (again) Bleue e-mailed Robin back, and mentioned that they are looking for Summer interns in the Children's Department, and to send my resume and coverletter to a woman named Rory Parilac. Which I did, about two hours ago.
I have an interview with Rory on Monday.
I am very pleased at knowing Robin.
