There's a book out that you should read, He's Not That Into You written by the Sex in the City guy. It helped me a lot with my boyfriend to the point I stopped making excuses for him. Good Luck.

if you supposedly care about a girl enough shouldn't you have balls big enough to get over this whole "if I treat her badly she will stay with me" thing? By telling a girl "you should dump me" it gives her the impression you don't want to be with her, so she trys all the harder to be what YOU want her to be. And that's just not right.

Look, I went through the whole masochistic need to be treated like shit by guys. Recently got over it. I have called Mike on his shit numerous fucking times and he knows I'm not going to put up with the games anymore. We are fine now. I am strong. And he understands that if he fucks up...I'm gone.

If you keep this up you're going to screwed over. Maybe not with this girl...or the next...but eventually you'll still be playing your paranoid-abandoment-issues games and the girl that you love...and I mean REALLY love will fucking leave you. And never come back.

I'm not pissed at you persay. I'm pissed at your type. Why do you guys play these fucking games?

I'm certainly not the authority on why guys do this, per se; I'm not really a 'guys guy', but if you've managed to mould Mike into shape, then there's hope for us all.
