Perhaps someone will miraculously be inspired: I'm dying for an Arthur/Merlin fanvid set to the song "Voices" by Madonna. It would work SO well, especially from Merlin's POV! This was the most confusing thing. Arthur’s knowledge of praise was a heavy pat on the back, a rare smile, more responsibility as a reward for competence. These gentle, kind words were foreign to him. “He’s risked his life for mine more than once,” he said, stoic before sipping his tea. It did feel good, rolling down his throat, warm and comforting.

Hunith reached across the table and put her hand on Arthur’s arm. “You boys have been through so much, haven’t you. I can’t even imagine the burden you must carry. Merlin’s told me a little. About how brave and clever you are. What a great king you’ll be…”

“He said that?” he asked. It wasn’t that he thought Merlin really thought ill of him, especially since the whole ordeal with the labrynth. He just didn’t think he thought quite that well of him, either ( ... )

Arthur/Merlin
Merlin's a private investigator. Arthur hires him to find his sister (Morgana) after she goes missing. (The Pendragons remain super wealthy.) Little does he know, the reason Merlin's so good at finding people is the same reason his sister disappeared - magic.

This isn't meant as a crossover, but I'll 'fess up - I had Veronica Mars on the brain when that one popped into my head ;)

I, uh, accidentally re-named almost everyone after friends of mine. Should be more than blindingly obvious as to who’s who but, uh, IDEK what I did there. I swear I didn’t notice until way too late.
God, I apologize for my abuse of parentheses! (No, I don’t.)

Anna had had no decent reason to sign up for anything called “Myths and Legends of Britain”, she was studying international relations and economics, but Madelyn hated taking courses alone and could be extremely persuasive (if “persuasive” actually meant “annoying” which, in Madelyn’s case, it absolutely did). Anna hates reading, especially fiction, (“Madelyn if there are epic poems I am going to end you, don’t think I won’t. I know where you sleep.”) but has a soft spot for revenge and secretly is of the opinion that dragons are the Coolest Things Ever. Also, Madelyn whined at her for three and a half days and shit, Anna hates her.
