It was everything I'd anticipated and more. This is the lovely lovely coming down after the story came to a head last update. Arthur is so much better now, calm and cared for and safe, able to grow into his strength. I was so afraid Uther would throw his weight at the people Arthur loves and bend him once again to his will - I'm so glad Merlin's words came back to him - I didn't think there was anything that could salvage the terrifying situation, and those words were magic - everything pivoted at that point.
I'm assured of a blissfully happy ending, which our boys deserve. Merlin is a treasure, he's handled a difficult situation so well - not many would date someone so deeply in the closet, let alone tender him through the crap he's had to live daily. That's some pretty deep love, and I love feeling that wash over Arthur. Time for healing and growing now.
And Gwaine/Percival? I loved them through the whole story. So good to have a happy ending for them, and it's like a little tiny triumph over Uther, in supporting role. Love them together. I hope we get to see Arthur re-unite with his friends, as his true self, and see that they love him just the same. Percival and Gwaine's relationship will make Arthur feel very safe with them, and he needs that kind of friend.
Hurray, you have made this day totally worth it!
