Arthur/Merlin, Criminal Minds AU, in that Arthur and Merlin are part of a team of profilers from the FBI (or MI6 if you want) Behavioural Analysis Unit. Merlin sort of in the role of Dr. Spencer Reid and Arthur sort of in the role of Aaron Hotchner.

I'd be more than happy to repost this as a variation if need be, but I intended for this to not be reincarnation or crossover as such. More of a fusion. Though I think you might be right. Thank you for pointing this out anon!

Oh! That is even more wonderful! In the Criminal Minds fandom Morgan/Reid is my favorite pairing so this actually makes me ridiculously happy! Oh please! *puppy eyes + merlin's puppy eyes + reid's puppy eyes*

Merlin rarely crawled out of his tech haven, but when he did it was usually for cake scavenging in the break room fridge. He shouldn’t have been surprised, but he still gave a startled yelp when he turned around and Gwen was right there, fiddling with her suspenders and looking at him hopefully.

“Oh baby,” he sighed around his fork. “What’s wrong?”

They sat down with tea while Gwen told him about the Tommy Killer case, which Merlin had to sit and sift through the crime scene photos of and, ew. Glueing the victims’ eyes open? Just ew.“Do you think it’s weird that I knew that ballad? I mean, not that the ballad itself is weird, it’s beautiful really, a great piece of Renaissance literature depicting the moral truths that still ring true in society today. I mean, I suppose it must be a little macabre, talking with death, but um, if you like that sort of thing, well... Is that weird that I know things ( ... )

Crossover, Arthur/Merlin [Criminal Minds]

There's a been a series of crimes committed, and the victims so far have been tall, thin, and dark-haired men in the early 20s. The BAU decides to investigate. Merlin is the potential target (perhaps he's the unsub's object of obsession? Maybe the unsub "warns" the police beforehand?), and Arthur is his protective boyfriend. Gen team!fic dynamics preferred for the Criminal Minds team, please.
