Weekend Shenanigans

Met our officiant on Saturday. He seems very nice, and I think he'll do just fine. He seemed to really like some of the elements we want to include in the ceremony, so that was good too, and we all bonded a bit over theatre. It was pretty cool.

After that, I sent Fuzzy off for his tux-fitting and bachelor party, and went out myself for a wee bit of shopping, followed by watching the Sens game. If the poor cat could speak English, he'd tell you all about the happy dance I made him do when we won. The rest of my evening was spent vegging with TV and chinese food, punctuated briefly by a quick visit by the bachelor party before they headed out downtown. Always nice to see Alex and Jeff, and good to see Ian again, too.

Next day was spent largely doing very little, until dinner at my parents', as was yesterday, although we did go for a bike ride/roller blade. I'm definitely making progress. I went up and down a few hills without killing myself (or anyone else), and actually managed to ride on a bike path, with other people, so things are improving. Riding a bike really is kind of interesting, because when you first start, you're not very confident, so you don't go very fast, but of course, the slower you go, the harder it is to maintain control, so you wobble all over the place, and that makes it hard to gain the confidence necessary to go faster and thus be in better control. Managed to break through that a lot yesterday, though, so that's good. Now I just need more practice so I can stop carrying so much tension in my arms while I'm riding, because that tires them out very quickly. Good exercise, though, I guess.
