So I just got back from a date with my dad (he takes me to the symphony three times a year), and I'm so trippin' off it! Tonight's symphony was Dvorak's 9th (or 5th, depending on who you ask), which is a great piece. I was looking forward to it just for the second movement, which contains the bit of Dvorak that everybody knows (even if you don't think you know what I'm talking about, trust me; you'd recognize it if you heard it), but as they were playing, they kept getting into all these other amazing themes that I'd totally forgotten were form this symphony. So I kept being all "Aw, yeah!" every time they'd get to a new one, and at the end, during the final movement, I was just so digging the big, powerful themes and everything, and it was just fucking awesome. I love this symphony; I'd just forgotten how much. Now I need to chase down a good recording of it, cuz damn, there's just so much good stuff in there. Aw, yeah!
