Fairly random musings

So I'm working in the mall now, until July. Very very boring job, selling tickets for the Jazz Festival, but the people watching can be quite entertaining. I didn't see much noteworthy today, but yesterday I saw, among other things, the scariest hot pink tracksuit ever, a guy with pants so tight that he had a wedgie so bad it actually made him walk funny, and my ex-boyfriend's parents. So glad they apparently didn't see me, cuz that could have been rather awkward. I also encountered, of all people, the receptionist of the women's residence. At King's College. In Halifax. Apparently she was on vacation.

Anyway, so the drive back from Hali was pretty good, although the music selection for the van still sucked. One thing occurred to me while we were driving through Montreal, though. A great Amazing Race task would involve sending the racers to the Trudeau airport. I saw exactly one sign pointing to that airport, and all the other signs I saw still said Dorval. So the racers would have to figure out that they're one and the same. Or they could just guess and end up at Mirabel instead. Or just wander aimlessly, hopelessly confused. I hope they do that if they ever end up in Montreal.

One other thought from a commercial I think I saw in the hotel Friday night. The new Denny's breakfast bowls, that need to be in bowls because they're too big for the plates. I say, it's about time. Because really, the big problem I've always had with Denny's is that the portions are just too damn small. Every time I eat there I come away starving, cuz they're so stingy. OK, seriously. Did someone in their marketing or whatever department honestly think this? Gah. And people wonder why obesity is getting so out of hand.

rants, travel, jazz fest, work
