Long Post

So this one should take a while, I have had some random things on my mind so Prepare Yourself!

First, as per usual, the realm of comics.  This hobby of mine i don't think has reached the point of obsession yet, but it's close.

This seems to be the year of the bullet in the Marvel U.  Everyone is doing something with bullets made of fun science stuff.  Three examples in 4 months.
1.  The Cancer Bullet:  A bullet which afflicts the person hit by it with 38 different types of cancer, designed to take down Wolverine in Wolverine:  Weapon X.
2.  The Anti-Cancer Bullet - A bullet which cures cancer in the person who is hit, designed to take down Deadpool in Deadpool:  Magnum Opus.
3.  The Time Bullet - By far the most ridiculous concept ever, a bullet, where when it hits you, severs you from the time stream, used on Captain America (which is how they are bringing him back) in Captain America:  Reborn.

More Comic stuff that none of you care about - Beta Ray Bill:  Godhunter.  The artwork is so fucking incredible.  I have followed the space-horse dude for a while and i never really cared for him... until now... i mean... wow.  the artwork is just stunning, not to mention that the plot moves fast paced from one spot to another.  I can't wait for the finale next month.

Away from the vast realm of comics and onto some other things.  Toni pointed out an interesting fact today.  We did lunch with my brother and his fiancee at flat top today and hung out for about two hours until they had to leave.  The thing about my brothers fiancee is that my mother views her as incredibly weird.  However, Toni pointed out, (truthfully, I might add) that she would probably fit in nicely with my group of friends.  She reads OOTS and LFG, she plays Magic, D&D, and other various tabletop games, and she is, in fact, a music ed major focusing on bass clarinet.  Her mannerisms remind me slightly of bits and pieces of my group of friends.  I was puzzling for about 5 or 10 minutes on who specifically, but that was impossible since it was parts of so many.

I picked up the new Dream Theater album that dropped late last June.  It's OK.  Now I know, since I am a diehard Dream Theater fan, you won't expect me to claim that an album is merely "OK" instead of amazing, or incredible.  However, I did view this album as a bit of a letdown as compared to the stunning work they did on Systematic Chaos.  Suprisingly, it was their best selling album... ever.  Best selling out of 10 studio albums.  The special edition that I BOUGHT (no need to give me another lecture Jay), contains three disks, the original album, a disk of covers including covers of Queen songs, a Maiden song, and Rainbow's epic Stargazer, and finally a disk of instrumental mixes of the original album.  It's not bad, I like the covers, and I really like the instrumental mixes a lot.  But I still feel a bit jaded.  I heard the leak of Rite of Passage, the single from this album, and it was awesome, but the rest of the album seems to lack a bit.  Full review coming later.

I have also discovered my secret love for philosophy.  Over the summer i finished a class which included reading Plato's Republic, Lao Tzu's Tao Teh Ching and Marcus Aurelius' Meditations.  I love it, I love taking these ancient Ideals and applying them to every day life and politics.

In a slightly related note, I am planning on getting a tattoo.  It will be Gnothi Sauton (but using greek letters), planned to be in an arc across my upper back.  For those of you who don't know what this phrase means, it is the ancient greek axiom "Know Thyself".  I really like what it means and how it applies to me and to the world around me.  if you have any other suggestions of where to put this, please let me know, I am willing to take input.

I love having Toni here, I mean, she's not at camp, I am no longer in class, so for the first time since we started dating, we actually get to spend the summer with each other, it's crazy and awesome.  She makes the boredom less boring.

well that's enough for me right now.  I will let you people read probably some cooler posts than mine, peace out chumps!
