chb: my love
yunho/jaejoong
general, fluff / pg13 / oneshot
Three days before their anniversary, Yunho ditches Jaejoong for Japan. Well at least that's what Jaejoong thinks.

fatso | boyfriend over job | trouble in paradise | joongievator | hi, hello | lonely momo | mama | we could be in love | weekend parents | get some and then get dumped | okinawa baby (part i) | all grown up | okinawa baby (part ii) | weapon of bangs destruction | green-eyed monster | mother's day | dinner gone wrong | baby dildo | bonjour paris | check-ups and lollipops | letter of doom | nature gay | not so happy birthday

note: past is when yunho was a stud muffin until he found out about his condition. present is during the time when the couple met minseok and yoosu and everyone else. future is three years after that, when minseok is already eight years old... and the years after that.

present

"So fucking dense. He has no sense of romance at all." Changmin watches in amusement as Jaejoong grumbles about how his boyfriend has got to be the most unromantic person on the face of the earth. That, of course, is not true, Changmin thinks, because even he is more unromantic than Yunho. But he's not going to tell Jaejoong that. He enjoys seeing him throw a hissy fit like a sixteen year old high school girl. "Can you believe that?! Three days before our anniversary he ditches me for Japan!"

"Be more understanding, will you? He has a job." the taller man replies calmly, taking a sip of his soda. Jaejoong is even more entertaining than the variety show they're currently watching, which is why he's not even paying attention to it at all.

"But Changmin this is different! I'm not whining because I feel like it. This is our fifth year anniversary we're talking about."

"Which you can celebrate when he comes back."

"Can't you be any more sympathetic." Jaejoong deadpans, getting even more annoyed at the fact that his best friend doesn't seem to understand how this is such a big deal for him. To think he cancelled all his appointments for this. He huffs. "I promise to make his life miserable the moment he comes back."

It just sucks that he has to spend their anniversary with his best friend.

Changmin sighs. "Don't be such a drama queen. Come on, Junsu texted. He wants to treat us. Said some kind of a celebration for the adoption."

"Can I not go?"

"And sulk here like an idiot? No way." The taller man pulls him up and pushes him to his bedroom. "Now go take a shower and make sure to look presentable."

"Don't I always?"

"Yeah but right now, I don't trust you."

Jaejoong sticks his tongue out at him childishly before marching towards his bedroom.

"Why are we the only ones here?" Jaejoong asks as they step inside the elevator. "Did Junsu rent the whole place?"

"Can you shut it?" Changmin responds in annoyance, rolling his eyes at the smaller man. "If you stopped rambling and looked around, you'll notice that there other people here, not just us. And why would Junsu rent the whole place? Don't be ridiculous. God Jae, you're even more annoying when Yunho isn't around."

"You aren't being very nice right now." he says, furrowing his eyebrows. Even he is annoyed with himself. But Changmin can't blame him. He just feels so lost and miserable without Yunho. The man left him in bed three days ago, leaving nothing but a note that explains why he had to go. He remembers how he crumpled the said note and threw it out the window only to run out of the house to get it back and pin it on their happy wall. Even if it was a sad note, it was still something that Yunho wrote for him and he's going to treasure it.

The pair is greeted by an ecstatic Junsu and a smiling Yoochun. The couple had already worked on their issues and are now as happy as they ever could be. Junsu also managed to persuade Yoochun into adopting a daughter, reason why they're having a mini blowout.

"I'm so glad you guys could come." Junsu said excitedly as the newcomers sit across them.

Changmin hums, checking out the menu. "I had to literally drag Jaejoong here. He's a little sulky, so I apologize in advance if he says something stupid."

Yoochun chuckles as he drapes an arm over Junsu's shoulder. "Be nice, Changmin."

"Yeah," Jaejoong nods, hitting Changmin on the head with the menu in hand. "Be nice." He makes a face at the injured man and faces Junsu, a smile on his face. "So Junsu, congratulations! When's the big day?"

The smile on Junsu's face is just so precious. Jaejoong's thankful that Yoochun stopped being an ass and gave his husband a chance. "Next well. We'll visit the orphanage."

"Great. It's a daughter then?"

"Hmm. If it's fine with Chunnie."

"Of course it is." Yoochun butts in. "Whatever makes Junsu happy. We had to get rid of Juliang, though. Bad memories."

Jaejoong nods in understanding, genuinely happy for the couple. Everything is finally falling into place for them. Their get together, though, is rudely interrupted when someone decides it's a brilliant idea to make a scene. A guy slams his fists on the table and gets up, seemingly furious. "You want to end it just like this?" Jaejoong frowns. Just what on earth is happening? "Fine, be that way and see if I care."

The man walks away and the girl, his girlfriend, it seems, starts sobbing quite loudly as she shouts, "Don't go! Don't leave me here!" The group of friends are clearly stunned. Changmin gapes, Junsu blinks, Yoochun has his eyebrows furrowed and Jaejoong could only watch in confusion.

They all watch as a waiter approaches the girl, giving her a tissues. "Are you alright, miss?"

Jaejoong feels as if they're watching a real time Korean drama. He jumps in surprise when the restaurant blasts out some music. Clutching a hand on his chest, he blinks when the waiter and the previously sobbing girl are moving their shoulders up and down. Are they dancing? And why are they looking at him? He looks at Changmin who shrugs.

His confusion triples when everyone else around them starts dancing. "What the--" his words die on his throat the waiter approaches him, a hand reaching out. He stares at the hand, wondering whether or not he should take it because what is this? What is happening? Why him? Why not Changmin? Surely, if this waiter wants someone to mess around with, it should be Changmin. Serves him right for being such a heartless best friend.

"Take it." Changmin nudges him. "It will be fine."

Reluctantly, he puts his hand over the beaming waiter's and he is hauled up his chair. He looks back only to see the other three grinning up at him, encouraging him to go on and not be afraid. Well, okay, if that's what they want. He needs some entertainment anyway.

The waiter leads him to a glass door where three other waiters are dancing to the song while everyone else is clapping. Somehow, he couldn't stop himself from smiling. He is really confused but at the same time, highly amused. If only Yunho is there to see the whole thing. He would have been jealous.

As soon as he walks in another room, his smile widens. He walks on a red carpet. It's his first time walking on one and it feels so good, if he may say so. The waiter pauses on his tracks and so does he as they watch a woman dressed in a wedding gown dance with a man in a tux. To his utter surprise, the woman hands him a bouquet of flowers.

It seems like everything is for him and he doesn't even know why.

The waiter ushers him to another door where a man clad in a blue polo, holding a rose bows at him. He awkwardly bows back. Said man leads him down the stairs where five little girls are directing their smiles at him. He almost squeaks in shock when the girls throw confetti at him as he passes by them.

He is then led to another door where two ballerinas dance for him. His heart starts to beat rapidly as his hold on the bouquet tightens. As the dancers finish their routine, they approach him to lead him to yet another door. As soon it swings open, tears sting his eyes.

He gets it.

He finally gets it. Everything clicks in his head.

There is a TV in front of him, Kim Jaejoong, it says. He lets tears stroll down his face as he watches a video with pictures of him and Yunho. His cries harder when he reads a message in the form of rolling credits.

Jaejoongie,

Surprise? I know you're probably mad at me thinking that I ditched you on our anniversary. Technically, I did, but I had good intentions. I have to thank a lot of people for managing to plan such a fancy thing for you. Don't you like things fancy, love? Anyway, I'm not going to keep this long. I just want you to know that no, I'm not that unromantic, thank you very much. You're crying, aren't you? I know you are. Don't. I'm not done yet. Enjoy and I'll see you later, okay, my love?

I love you.

Jaejoong is torn between laughing and crying. He just doesn't know what to feel anymore. And he wants to see Yunho so bad. In the midst of wiping his tears, someone draws the curtain open which reveals Junsu who starts singing with an orchestra. Well this is a nice surprise. He heard from Yoochun that Junsu has a great voice but he hasn't heard it yet because when he asks Junsu to sing something for him, Junsu shakes his head and says he's shy.

Yoochun is right though. Junsu does sing really well.

As Junsu continues to serenade him, everyone he met earlier comes filling up the room. He could not believe his eyes. All this, for him? From Yunho? His smile widens even more. He scans the room for his chubby lover but the man is nowhere to be found. As if on cue, Junsu stops singing and then enters Yunho looking so dashing in his suit as he struts stuff towards him, stopping by a few meters from him at the end of the platform.

Yunho reaches out a hand which Jaejoong takes and pulls him up to the platform with him. "Hi." Yunho says, a very handsome smile on his face. He wipes Jaejoong's tears with his thumb and pecks his tear-stained cheek. "Surprise?"

Hearing Yunho's voice makes him burst out in tears. He buries his face in Yunho's chest as he sobs uncontrollably, not really caring at the fact that he could ruin his suit. He hears his lover chuckle and feels his arms enveloping him in a hug. Everyone aww-ed at the scene. Jaejoong is aware that some of them are recording them in their phones. Some like Changmin. Wherever he may be in the sea of people. The man would most likely use it as a blackmail material, but he's too overwhelmed to think about what he'd do to him if ever he actually uses it.

Sobs soon turn into hiccups. Yunho rubs his back in comfort and he pulls away slightly to look at the man who just made his day. "Isn't this too extravagant for an anniversary?"

"Not at all, love. I love spoiling you as much as I could and you know that." Yunho replies, his smile not faltering. "Took me five days to plan all of this. With the help of some people, of course. Remind me to thank them all later and maybe you would like to marry me?"

Jaejoong gapes. He gapes and blinks at him for a good while before opening his mouth to speak. "Did you just..."

"If you thought it was a proposal then you thought right."

It takes Jaejoong a few moments for everything to process in his mind and when it sinks in, he throws himself at his pleased lover. "I'm sorry I thought you were have no sense of romance. You're not entirely unromantic. And yes, yes of course I'd like to marry you. Heck, I'd love to!"

Yunho grins and slips a silver band on his finger. "I love you, Jae. Thank you for staying with me through thick and thin, literally and figuratively. For defending me from people, for not being ashamed of me. For loving me unconditionally and just... just for everything. God, Jae, you have no idea how precious you are to me." he cups Jaejoong's face and presses a sweet kiss on his lips. "I truly love you and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Jaejoong grins throughout his speech. "I love it when you're cheesy. You--"

"Mama, papa!" Their son's voice cuts him off and he doesn't even feel the least bit annoyed for getting interrupted as he's about to declare his undying love for his now fiancé. Minseok runs towards them. In his excitement, the little kid trips on his own feet and rolls like a log to his parents who watch in horror, unable to move in shock. Minseok stops a few inches away from Yunho's feet and although dizzy, he sends his parents a wide grin. "Congratulations!"

Yunho immediately scoops him up as Jaejoong examines his body for injuries.
