I had a really darn swell weekend this weekend...

It started on Thursday - I had lunch with sluggobear and he and I talked about music and Bacchus House and being a DJ and things and stuff... then we had yogurt with bikerbearmark and then I headed North to Long Beach.

Went up to LB to hang out with James from SF for the weekend as he was in town for work and things.  We went out for food with his sincerely awesome co-workers and had make yer own mini burgers and tasty beer and we both bought pecan (not a nut) cupcakes with ginger icing.  We went to LB bars (The Mine Shaft and The Brit) and rocked the jukebox (minus co-worker James' selections) wherever we were.  We had beers and Will from LA even came out to say Hi.

On Friday I went to Disneyland and met up with RTRR and San Diegans for bigsabu's birthday.  It was hot and not super crowded and I went on 4 rides and  had lunch.  Bonus points for finally getting to meet JD's Jenna too.  She's a little spot of sunshine for sure.  I then split back to LB for a truly tasty dish at James' hotel.  They were doing a test run of their bar and food services and it was sooooo good.  Apparently the executive chef is some major mover in the making of seriously hard core tasty Mexican food.  James and I went back to the hotel room to fall apart but Pop Starz in We-Ho was winking at us like a gooey cheesey 80s 10 dollar whore so we flipped a coin and "Go" won.  Thank goodness it did because The Factory was full of people I truly truly love and we had such an E+PI+C type of time that even now as I think back to screaming "Shoosh Girl - Shut your lips!" at the top of my lungs I smile wide and wider until I think of "Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips!" and then I smile widest.  Yes, they played my jam.  And yes
e_ticket has video of us rocking to Pink on his youtube page.

On Saturday I drove over to my Mom's place and met up with her, her husband Michael, my nephew, cousin, uncle, and grandparents and we all headed to PF_Changs for a tasty lunch.  It was nice to see everyone and fun talking video games with my nephew.  My family is at a really odd stage right now.  Like folks are getting older and are getting worse at putting up with the little things that we've put up with for decades.  A few tense moments and I even had to do a customer service butt in at one point to keep the peace.  Nothing major, but not quite our style really.  I enjoyed watching Mom go Harry Potter Pensive all over her iPhone - she's strung out on Bejeweled 2 and Facebook - heck, even my Grandmother got out her laptop while I was there (photo of it up on my Facebook account).  I split from Laguna and headed back to Long Beach in time to grab James (mmmmm, grabbing James) before we headed out for dinner with the bears and on to Bear Bar.  Bear Bar was hot and sorta gross but we did have good times and many of my favorite folks from around SoCal were there.  I just don't know if I'd go back again on purpose even with some of the nice eye candy that was there.  It doesn't even really feel like a dance anymore.  Just a bar that happens to have a dance floor.

Today I said so long to James (time out - James is a fucking swell guy and I had such a good time hanging out with him - time in) and headed to Alisa Viejo to have lunch with Mikey, Tim, Mike and Mark, and RTRR... Again, quality quality good times.  Food was tasty and the company was just top notch.  I especially enjoyed when we shared our dark video gaming secrets - like Tim's Saw-like tendencies when it comes to playing Sims 2.

So now I'm home and I'm catching up on the Netz.

I'm a thankful man who's feelin' mighty fine...
