Staying Visible

Today me and bearxxl drove down to University and 3rd and met up with (according to the AP) around eight to ten thousand of our fellow San Diegans to march through Hillcrest and into North Park in a show of outrage over Prop 8 and to show support for Marriage Equality. It was pretty damn awesome really. It was a diverse crowd with a lot of straight folks and families taking part. Everyone was super cool and throughout the crowd there were chants and cheers while all the while the cars going West on University honked and cheered their support. I only saw one person give us the thumbs down (and well, not to get into cliches but she did look a lot like that crazy "evil doers" witch craft chick from the wife swap show) but that was totally trumped by the overwhelming support. Thank you to pinner123 who made us all shirts and to all the SD guys who were able to show up today and take part. I got out there because it felt like the right thing to do for me and that's really all I can do now - carry on and continue to do what I feel is right.

Heading out of Hillcrest and into North Park under the Georgia Street Bridge.  We were right in the center of a mile or so long march of people.  It felt so good to get out there and be a part of it all.  (if you look closely you can see
bnsd70 on the bridge!)

You can see the rest of the photos etc I've done for the rally/march on my Flickr page
.
