If you've never been kayaking on the ocean you should really get out and do that - like tomorrow. You know, before the weather gets too cold. A bunch of us went on Sunday and I had the time of my life. What an excellent way to get my mind of things that are complicated and to make life (if only for a moment) just about keeping afloat, laughing with friends, and steering clear of the breakers - and yes, the parallels are not lost on me... Tugs to Mikey for putting the trip together. Surprisingly enough, the only part of me that's sore are the areas between my thumb and pointer finger - I think it's from gripping the paddle so tightly. The trip was pretty drama free - that is, once everyone got up on their kayaks and out past the breakers (that took about 30 minutes - hehe). We did have one camera meet its maker in the great blue sea but things went well besides. We spotted sharks, a sea lion, and a lot of Garabaldi fish.
After the kayaking me, John and Tim headed right to the Hole for beers and things. It was a lot of fun - I hadn't been there in quite a while so it was just nice to hang out. Rob was in town so that was an added bonus as well.
Saturday was brunch with a couple of the guys and then I went over to Gay Ace to get some floor cleaning supplies. I wanted to give my hard wood (floors) a polish and now they are nice an shiny. Mission Accomplished. Hadrian and I met up for some red meat at Outback and then went to see the new Coen Bros pic "Burn After Reading". We both enjoyed it. It surprised me but at the same time I found that it didn't really compare to my favs The Big Lebowski and Fargo (or Raising Arizona for that matter). Have I mentioned that Tilda Swinton is on my list of people who are amazing? My dream is to see her go toe to toe with Katherine Keener - bliss!
I worked from home yesterday - sure is nice when I'm able to. On my lunch break I took some time to watch the film "White". After seeing "Blue" a few weeks back it was nice to get into the second film in the series. I enjoyed this one in other ways and am looking forward to the next. Was interesting to make connections with the actors (notably the Polish business partner who was also in V for Vendetta which Rob H. is coming over to watch with me on Bluray soon because he hasn't seen it and I fucking adore it! and therefore must learn him).
Speaking of Wachowski Bros films (V for V), I watched Speed Racer on the plane from India and I thought it was pretty darn good, really. I mean, it could be because I as delirious with the time changes and desperate for entertainment - but I did dig it. The W's reused their go-to snarky villian too from V for V.
Last night was my first night back at the bar since being home from India. The shift went well and it was nice to be back. It didn't do much for my time acclimation work, but aw well. The jet lag is still with me almost a week later but only around 4pm-6pm (4:30am-6:30am Bang time)...
So that's where I'm at. Have plans to see H this week and play v.ball for the first time in weeks so I'm looking forward to both of those evenings. Gay Days at Disney are right around the corner. I'm not going to go both days this year. John and I are just gonna go super early on Sunday and bend Magic Kingdom over, before meeting up with Sluggo and the gang in CA Adventure for the day. I might have to skip out early though as it's the same day as our first live WWE event with the new support team too.
Lastly, If you missed it - I'm whoreing myself out for the AIDS Walk this year... If you'd like to donate and would also like to see me in various states of undress you need only do the following:
If you
donate
more than $20 I'll be emailing you a nice and new G rated photo... If you
donate
more than $50 I'll email you a nicer and newer R rated photo... And if you
donate
more than $75 I'll email you a new and naughty X rated photo. The photos I take will be unique and just for you - and yes I'll take requests (within reason - hehe).
Cheers y'all... hope the week is treating you well and that recently outed gays with not so awesome tribal tats are keeping you sufficiently bemused/outraged/disgusted...
