I am starting to think that Oprah will be the next L. Ron Hubbard. How difficult would it be for her to actually start a religion? Think how well that would work out for her tax-wise. I mean, she already has millions of zealots at her command. And you can save the "what do you mean, start? How bout started?" comments. hehe...
Last night at the bar there were two gal pals who came in with their gay. One was from Michigan and her husband is in the NAVY. She's been out here with him but is going back home today. She decided to get tanked. She was a hoot. All the fun of a quality straight girl without the bullshit and annoyances that generally go along with them. Her friend is working in SD as a hostess but also strips from time to time. I found them both to be fascinating. It made my insanely slow night go by a bit quicker. Thankfully JP and Justin stopped by with some Ibuprofen to take the edge off my back pains. My buddy Larry from LV dropped by for a bit too. But wow, what a slow night.
Saturday I had dinner and then played Wii with Kevin, Mike, and Joel. Mike and Kevin's Wii Fit called me Unbalanced and Obese... Not real news to me but a bit tactless all the same. The Wii Fit is not size 14 friendly but I think I will obtain one all the same. I liked it quite a bit even if it did turn my Mii into a Girth and Mirth pin-up model. We also played Boom Blocks which was fun. There's something satisfying about knocking down another person's castle.
Saturday was also our day of beauty for Sex and the City. A bunch of us had cosmos at Outback (hey, it was in the mall and close to the theater). We then went across the way to the nail salon for mani/pedis. I gotta tell you, those nail gals have quite a racket. They totally bumped me up on things (massage etc) with a nice combo of broken english and straight up ignoring my No, I don't want thats. I'm such a puss and a pleasure whore that I just went and did whatever they wanted and paid them more than I should have for it. But the end result was satisfying - see for yourself:
My tootsies after my pedi, the gays (and one str8) enjoy drinks... First photo shows one of the glasses Chuck brought. Fun!
I loved the movie. I mean, as a big fan of the series it pretty much did everything I wanted it to do. Conflict without gimmicks. Nothing felt all that forced. New characters had a purpose. It all made sense, felt right, and worked. I will say some of it was predictable (I could tell what would "suit" her from the get-go) but I didn't mind that. And wow - Candice Bergen - ummm... yeah...
Sunday I went to the Hole with a few of the guys. It was Mike Tr's b.day so many drinks were consumed (not by me, I was driving). I will say I felt a bit disconnected at one point. Not sure what was up my butt really, I just felt like I was out of sync. The feeling carried through dinner at Extreme Pizza and on into the evening. I decided to sleep on it and felt better the next day. I think I just hit a life speed bump or something.
Monday I got a fair amount of work done as well as laundry. I tried to watch Night at the Museum but it was so horrible I stopped. I instead watched my new Bluray copy of Company and loved it. It has an interview with Raul Esparza who looks massively hot with shaggier hair and a nice beard. Oh my.
The rest of my week is going to be more interviews and meetings. My allergies are making my eyes itch like crazy and frankly I am over it!
Lastly, I'm going to start a new campaign: It's OK to HATE 2008...
Carry on!
