Hi there - I'm that guy Brian who used to post so much it made you run a groove in yer finger what with all the scrolling and ignoring and what not...
So while I can't promise anything I am going to try and post a bit more. I think Question Month kept me from getting more of my every day type posts up and apart from the pretty damn big Dad post I've been a little quiet of late. So, to get back into the groove let's go over a few items, shall we?
First, if you like The Postal Service and Death Cab and want to listen to a kid who likes them also and makes music along those lines then check out the EP and Album from PlayRadioPlay! It's just a lone youngster making listenable pop music. I think it's pretty nifty.
Saturday
bearxxl and I trucked up to Disneyland. We hadn't been in over a month and we both agreed we were long overdue. It was a special occasion as
cubtharsis was in town to visit
pinner123. It was Mike's first trip to the park so I definitely wanted to be there for that. I lovelovelove going to the park on someone's first time. For a Spring Break weekend the crowds weren't bad at all. John and I hit Space and Buzz before meeting up with Dave and Mike. We headed over to get a trip on Mr Toad's in and made plans to meet
bigsabu and
martini_tim there. We road it and then headed over to Pirates. As we got off the ride we were given Dream Passes (joy-bliss) and we also met up with
bnsd70 (who we fanagled a DP for too). It's two placards on a lanyard that give you one fast pass to every major attraction in BOTH parks (minus Haunted, Nemo, and Matterhorn). Ohmygosh this made my day. It also took the pressure off of us for having to keep to the "technique". It also encouraged us to ride stuff we don't normally ride like Autopia (fun when you have a fast pass and friends) and the Roger Rabbit Ride (also very fun and well-themed... I need to remember to go on this more often). John and I sorta pooped out early though which I feel no shame about. I was pooped! We left Mike and Dave to enjoy the rest of the evening and to see Fantasmic and we headed on home.
I picked up a new pin for myself. It's Tigger holding a photo of Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore. I'm totally gay for it as it's a reminder to me that even when I go to Disney or hang on my own I'm always holdin' the friends who aren't with me near my heart. Yes, I know. That is super cheesy but it's very true. I got Dave and Mike going on their lanyards by getting them each a Mickey pin and they surprised me by getting me a Donald as Devil pin that says "Bad Boy" on it. Love! I also got a Princess Nametag that says "KFAD" on it. Got a compliment on it from a ride operator - *giggle*
Oh, to be mentioned for sure. We're walking over by Arial's Grotto at CA and these three Japanese girls ask if they can have their photo taken with me. I'm gonna assume it's because I'm freakishly large and it'll look cool on their mySpace profiles or something to be photographed with me. Either that or I'm going to be the coverboy for FatBloatedAmericanPig.com... Here's some snaps of me making Godzilla look so five minutes ago:
And here's a snap of my Disney non-sexual life partner and all around awesome guy bearxxl and I just enjoying the warm glow of Disney's unconditional corporate love policy...
Let's see, other than that life has been on an even keel. We had a huge event for work last night that went smoothly. My team has really gelled and they have no problem stepping up and handling things when events call for it. So yeah - happy with that. Tonight I'll be back at the bar after taking last Monday off post-TBRU. I'm feeling the last tugs of TBRU still on me but I'm just about back in my groove now. I'll only hint slightly at the coolest thing still tuggin' on me post-Dallas and leave it at that.
This week I just need to get a lot done around the apartment. I still have my damn suitcase on the floor of my bedroom and laundry needs to be done. I've also got some work to do on the KFAD-side as I port the site over to its new home. Then it's only a matter of time before I'm ready to get version 2.oh! off the ground.
So many projects to work on and just not enough time in the day. What I could do if I didn't have to work, eh? To sleep perhaps to dream...
