If you've been reading me for a while or know me to begin with then my love for
TIVO is no secret - Tivo is the day and the night... It is Tivo that waits for me, never tires, fulfills my television needs.
And if you've been reading you also know about my enjoyment of Real(ew - yes, their player does suck that is true)'s
Rhapsody online music service. Rhapsody does not use the REAL Player at all - it actually uses M.Soft's DRM and that's not really the point here anyhow...
The point - wait for it... Is that my two loves have been combined. Yes, you can now access Rhapsody via Tivo at no additional cost (if you have accounts for both). So instead of running my music out of my semi-crappy computer speakers I can now roll it out through the not crappy at all TV stereo.
And yes, to an extent I could do this before with Tivo's network settings and music sharing abilities but now I have this fab Rhapsody engine to make playlists with and do all kinds of other nifty things.
They're offering a free Rhapsody trial so if you haven't checked it in the past you might want to. While groups like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Radiohead are not on Rhapsody, quite a bit of what is out there is. It's an excellent way to try out new music and I have to say that my CD purchases have dwindled with music so readily available online like this.
