Zach's Visit - ComiCon Part 2 - Disney Trip - Weekend
Ok, can I just start off by saying that it's been a little rough getting back to work today. Have been having such a good visit with Zach (rugbybearpa) that I just wanna keep it going. And he was no help this morning... when I said I just wanted to go back to bed and zonk he was quick to throw the covers over and tempt me (evil!). It's a done deal that he and Ron will need to come back to SD and have some more fun.
Let's see, we hit Disney with bearxxl, danlmarmot, bigkid - met up with Scott WiHbiNHS, Vito, and the sunbeam_bears and their buds and just had a blast. Rides Hit:

Easily one of my best trips to Disney ever (and that's saying a lot considering this was my 11th trip since getting my pass back in October). Was great getting to know Zach better and getting more time with Scott too. Excellent group to roll with. You can see a bunch of photos from our trip by clicking on the one below:
We also were able to initiate Zach and Scott on Splash Mountain - Bear Baptism style if you will. Check this vid that John made. It's amazing:
Somehow we actually got ourselves out of bed Saturday morning and made it back over to the ComicCon. I left my badge back at the apartment so while Zach bus'd it downtown with maverick1303 , mattycub , and zombietruckstop , I rolled 20 minutes behind them in the next bus feeling stupid. We had hoped to make it into the Heroes panel but the line was insane and the hall filled with hundreds of people still waiting to get in - Ah Well :(
Instead we hit a semi-cool hasbro/cartoon network panel that had to do with the new Transformers cartoon coming out and the new toys they are making for it as well as some other Trans toys Hasbro is planning. Matt and Zach were all wet in the pants over it and I enjoyed the nostalgia trip too.
From there we looked at the schedule and saw that Seth McFarlane was going to be doing a Family Guy panel. Matt and Zach had ideas about if we should get in line an hour ahead of time or roll up when it started (at 1:30pm). Despite my thoughts on when we should get in line we waited 20 minutes and got there around 12:45 only to find a huge line of people waiting that went down a hall, around a corner, and around another corner. So be sure to ask Zach "What time is it?" next time you see him - or better yet, just call him "1:30"... had much fun giving him grief on this one. We did get in though and got to see some super funny clips from the upcoming season opener of Family Guy that is a full on Star Wars Ep IV send up. Minus points for dopey fucks asking Seth to "sign my shirt" or "shake my hand" during the Q and A.
We then hit the floor and got our shop on. I picked up some vinyl figures, some awesome prints, a shirt, and some other stuff which I'll document at some point. Zach and Matt also picked up some stuff. As we were sitting in the lobby we full on saw mutha fucking Stan Lee! He was walking by and we all started clapping. Totally looked over at us and gave us the smile and the wave. Other sightings included John Favreau, Robert Downey Jr, the guy who plays Chief on BSG, and later Seth McFarlane doing a signing.

After the Con we headed to Mikey and Matt's for a casual get together. Good times. Matt puked - Awesome!
Sunday we headed to sushi with Matt and then took a drive around H.Crest. Rolled over to the Hole and let Zach loose in that crazy zoo. The SD Peeps were all about his cuteness and good times were had. Picked up some Pizza Explosion with a bunch of the guys and then ended the night with a swim/soak at Brian's pad.
Tonight it's bar night and Zach and some of the guys will be coming in to hang out and to also get a little pre-birthday drink on. Should be fun.
