It's Monday and at the moment I'm sitting on my couch in sweat pants watching The Music Man on Encore. Let it be known that this is one of my all time favorite movie musicals ever and I just watched (and rewatched thanks to Tivo) the Madam Librarian scene because it's just so darn nifty. Anyhow, that's not what I'm postin' about. Just wanted to catch up with what's been goin' on of late.
Disney with John
On Saturday
bearxxl and I went to Disneyland (my 7th trip since October - making the most of my pass). John got his annual pass as well so we're pretty much both hopeless now. Considering the fact that it was a holiday weekend it really wasn't all that crowded. I've most definitley been there on busier days. MK was pretty hopping by noon but CA never really got all that busy. I've got a theory about families and tourists coming to CA for a Disney weekend - spending Sat at MK and Sun at CA so that might explain why the crowds work as they do.

So we went on all the core rides including the newly refurbished and open Splash Mountain. I love that ride and if I didn't have to worry about getting totally soaked going on it, I'd ride it more often.
Oh yes, the Finding Nemo ride wasn't quite open. The walls had been taken down around the lagoon but it doesn't open for another 14 days now. They did have the animatronic seagulls on the dingy going "Mine!? Mine?!" so that was nifty. Looking forward to riding it later this month.
The Pirate Island make-over of Tom Sawyer's island had been completed though so we were able to go and check it out. "Dead Man's Grotto" formerly known as "Indian Joe's Hide Out" was probably the only really memorable aspect of the new stuff. Two really cool elements including cameos by two Pirates (movie) characters and an impressive animatronic/projection sleeping pirate.
John and I spent most of the day in CA Adventure where the lines were shorter. We are both big fans of CA Screamin' and road it three times. Tower of Terror twice. We also took in Turtle Talk with Crush which John hadn't checked out before.
Oh yeah, we went back by MK and went inside "Innoventions" because neither of us had ever checked it out before. Um, yikes - awful.
Other highlights included seeing the Mainstreet Electrical Parade for the first time in about 25 years, taking a bunch of
Dad Safari shots, and calling my sister from the line for Pirates (she called me the other day from the line for the 3rd Pirates movie and I called her from the park to say that the line for the ride trumps the line for the movie).

Sundays Funday
I ran errands on Sunday and got a few things done before grabbin' John and heading to the Hole. Only problem is I didn't follow my own advice that I tend to give out when it comes to Holes and Holidays - always get there an hour before you normally would. Well, we got there at 4:30 and there was a big ol' line. I hate to admit this, but we actually stood in line for an hour before getting into the bar. Surprisingly enough the line was worth it. We had a kick-ass time once we got in (and once I got my beer). Funny moment. I'm walking down the stairs onto the patio and the place is packed. I stop for a sec to talk to my buddy Tyler about the line and from behind me I hear "Excuse me Mr Wall can you get out the way???" I turn around and there's some scoop of vanilla ice cream 30something ghey so I turn to him and say "Listen, I just waited an hour to get in, you can waiting a fucking minute." and turned back.

So yeah, I'm a fucking gangsta yo.
There were cute boys at the Hole which I'm all in favor of. After we were done drinking beers and being silly we headed over to Pizza Explosion for some grub before calling it a night.
Tonight some of the boys are coming out to PECs for the unveiling of the newly San Diego centered Mr and Mrs
sluggobear so that should be fun. I know Mikey is excited about having Matt here in town at last.
Ok, that be it - except that it should be pointed out that Robert Preston was always attractive to me as a kid and I guess that all makes sense now seeing as how he was a big poof and I was a formative eight years old when I first saw The Music Man. And when they put him in cuffs - don't get me started! lol And one of the guys in the barbershop quartet was hot too.
