And I'm Telling Ew...

After watching the interview clip of Paul Abdul being all funky drunk drinky winky with the Seattle morning news I went ahead and gave in and mostly watched American Idol last night.  So here's what I found out:

Simon is still the only one on the show who is cool.  Sometimes he can overdo things but generally he's the only one who is honest and I think he's the least cruel of the three.

Paula is on something without a doubt.  Even if it's green tea she's loopy mcfruitstein.  The good thing about this is that she's not as peppy as she used to be.  I like a quiet tired Paula sometimes

Randy is a cock knocker.  Total bastard.  He giggles at people and is easily the least sensitive and cruelest person when it comes to telling folks they stink.  Looking at him makes my stomach hurt in a similar way that listening to George Bush does.

Jewel - poor thing.  Her career really has landed her somewhere.  I'll give her this - she kept he mouth closed most of the time which had two benefits: we didn't have to look at her snaggle tooth and it made her come across as sympathetic to the contestants.  I could tell by looking at her that she was a little embarrassed at the actions of the folks on either side of her at times.  I don't blame her.

The left door being locked - totally done on purpose to fuck with people and that's not cool (which of course is why I loved it).

The contestants.  Seriously, how can these people not know that they are awful???  I still think a large number of them know and just want to be on TV.  It's like performance art for some of them.   The vocal coach.. good lord.  And the juggler?  And the #1 fan???

I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch the prelims tonight.  I might just wait 'til they go to CA.  I still hate myself for watching at all.
