Ten Year Old Mix Tapes

Jan 13, 2007 14:08

I'm cleaning the back part of my kitchen up right now.  I had some boxes back there filled with, well, I didn't really know what was in 'em until I opened them up.  I have to say, it's almost like someone else packed these boxes because a lot of the stuff in there I had been missing for a while and I was baffled why I'd stored them away (electric screw driver, paper shredder, Pepperspray Tshirt etc)...  I also found a bag full of mix tapes I had made when I was in college.  Here's a listing of some of the names on the tapes I found:

The Mellow Side of Time - The Lower Side (Yeesh, how English major dork is that?)
Rub My Belly for Good Luck
Pearl Jam Live in San Diego Nov 8, 1995 (I was there!)
Waist High Donkey (a band my friends had when we were in high school)
The Beatles are Super Rad - The Beatles are Super Neat-O (homemade collection of beatles tunes)
Mellow and Depressed - Music to Listen to When you Feel Like Shit (hey, before I came out I was... well, a little blue)
Buscamos Los Gringos
Taking the Bus Sucks (made this one to listen to on...yeah, you guessed it)
New Super Charged Turbo Cyber Injection LX
Two Chocolate Coins in My Fountain
The Jedi Returns
Geeksville USA (back when I managed an arcade and dj'd while I worked)
Good Music - The Monday Side, The Friday Side
Sanity in a Box

Music-wise it's all 90s alt with a mix of swing and pop-punk/ska... the stuff I was listening to at the time.  The mellow depressing collections were all slow REM and Indigo Girls songs mixed with classical music...  I pretty much lived with my Sony Sports Walkman attached to my head most of my time at San Diego State...

Ok, back to cleaning.  Oh yeah, Happy Birthday
